Nowhere to go but up! Green has to lead the league in holding penalties

I have stated this since the end of the 2021 Draft and how this unit would be the X Factor of the team for the season. Growing pains were, and still are, expected. However, I do not care how immense the pains are but how immense the development of progression of the unit is. That difference matters as said mentality will be needed later on in the season.

Merely playing together and bringing middling results is going to lead to bigger problems later down the line if improvement is not occurring. Thankfully, that is not the case with this Line. Again, quite a bit of holding penalties and some shortcomings in pass protection reared their ugly head yet again but such is to be expected from a young and up and coming line. All of them will get better for it; no doubt about that.

This unit will become more and more synchronized as time passes this season. How quickly and how efficiently though is up to them. Again though, we have seen now three straight games of the Steelers averaging over 100 yards per contest. Here is hoping this trend continues as the likes of Hakeem Hicks, Roquon Smith, Alex Ogletree and Eddie Goldman are far more of an problem than their recent outings would suggest. This is not including the likes of Robert Quinn or Khalil Mack (if ready to play) either.

Yep. See some potential for us if improvement continues.

Other than the O-line having more upside with the run blocking, Harris also running smarter IMO. Running game improving overall which is HUGE.

Throwing the ball, Ben seems more comfortable with RPO plays and other plays we used to never run.

Barring injuries, I think we have now raised ourselves up to playoff contention status. Only second tier threat IMO, but with so many young guys we have more upside potential and we are heading in the right direction.

Worrisome is the SLOW improvement in the pass offense.

Overall, have to admit far exceeding my expectations. Would now be surprised if we have a sub .500 season. Our defense should keep us in almost every game.

This unit has definitely improved as the season has gone on. Still a lot of growing pains with both rookies to be expected and Chucks isn’t good but the guard play has been noticeably better.

Swing and a miss. Not even close. Williams the guard from Dallas has 7, green has 3.

Funny that TB and Philly are the same. One has a guy 20-25 years older then the other.

He has 3, tied with Dotson. That puts him at about 15 on the list. Leader has 7.

PFF gave Dan Moore Jr. a John Belushi score for pass blocking this weekend. Zero point Zero. He did get a 61 grade for run blocking while the rest of the O-line were all over 70 for run blocking. Chucks had a season high rating of 71.1.

True, and quite likely, but the same would be as likely for the others?

Part of it is holding penalties stand out, it’s not just the 10 yards, it loosing what might have been a good play.

The OLine is definitely improving. After that Bengals game I had little hope moving forward with what we got.

Shocking, a young inexperienced line playing together for the first time are showing improvement after…..wait for it…..getting experience.

Is it safe to go outside, is that sky still going to fall on my head????

Ok here is my question and I don't want to seem unfair to Chuks but much was made about his play vs Von Miller and the following week Miller struggled again and is moving onto a pretty good defense. So my question is even though we know what a freak VOn Miller has been in the past can we say that Chuks did a superior job against an elite probowl player or is it a former pro bowl player trying to climb that mountain again?

Its those little things but a few of those early long time of possession drives seemed to have soften up that Cleveland DL where the OL was getting a bit of a push and Najee looked like King Henry going right up the middle with Green almost acting like a fullback late in the game. lol

Dotson got called for holding and when they replayed it I didn't see it , the announcers didn't even comment on it another phantom call.
As the line has started to show progress so has Harris on some plays he hits it hard and fast and gets what he can and on some other plays he has started to read the blocks and show patience.
Still wondering what BIG Dan oh I meant Banner can do other than stand on the sideline taking up space.

Garrett may have gotten only one sack, but he dominated Moore all game.
