We have 3 defensive lineman on IR right now (leaving us with only 5 lineman total). So what do we do? we place one on IR and activate McFarland. With some of the depth issues we have i find this a puzzling move. When i say puzzling i mean from a depth perspective. McFarland is a Maryland player so we all know why he gets a spot no matter what.

 

I think we could roll with Harris and Ballage at RB. Snell and Mcfarland don't add anything.

 

This is the kind of **** that makes me question how great Colbert and company are. I mean even people that play fantasy football understand this concept.

 

You have to have one of the others cause if someone gets hurt you can't have just one running back. But 4 when you have a 1st round draft pick at RB knowing full well the 3rd string guy isn't going to see the field much, and the 4th def isn't. And with the depth issues on the D line thats just silly. Wormley doesn't technically have a backup right now (yes i know one of the other guys will fill in if he gets hurt) but its nice to know our 1st string left end has no backup but our 3rd string RB has a backup now.

 

I've said it before. I think Colbert is one foot out the door Hence the year to year contrast's. This reeks of Tomlin all over this decision.

One more injury to the D line and there is one guy left to spell the whole line. 2 injuries and the Line gets no rest at all.

I must have missed it… What D lineman did they cut? All I saw is that they put Davis on IR and activated McFarland.

They also cut Samuels and signed a D lineman…. who’s name escapes me

Snell is awful. Mcfarland is supposed to be fast but it doesn't translate on the field. He's Dri Archer v 2.0.

 

Who is this DL that we cut? They put Carlos Davis on IR and added Anthony MacFarland to the 53 man roster.

 

Davis was who they listed as making room for McFarland. I get it that Davis was gone either way but they should have signed another D Line guy instead of activating a 4th running back. If tomlin has to have his Maryland guy then cut mr Benny "i talk in the 3rd person" Snell and get some depth in case someone gets hurt so we arent trying to spell are entire D line with 1 guy (or worse with nobody).

 

Sorry i worded that wrong. I changed it. The point is that we are short on D lineman we don't need a 4th running back right now.

 

We’ve been without Carlos Davis all season pretty much. I could see if an active player went down, but we’ve been living without him anyway so….

Pretty sure they had to activate him off the IR, or would have lost him for the entire year.

And judging by what we saw in camp McFarland is going to be the #2 Running Back behind Najee.

 

They did… Chris Slayton. That’s the name I couldn’t remember in my previous post. He’s a DT.

I think they have until Saturday to send a RB down, or bring up another DL, Ballage might be cut since McFarland is activated.

No change for weeks and people whine about someone being sent to ir that’s been unavailable due to injury for the entire season.

 

The Steelers are only using two D-linemen that put their hand in the dirt anyway. Highsmith and Watt are basically the ends in an 4-2-5 alignment.

I mean, since Tomlin loves Maryland players so much and all...

 

If we need a D-lineman, Geno Atkins is still available. I’m sure the guy can still contribute

 

They have five defensive linemen on the 53-man roster, the exact same number they had available against the Seahawks. Davis hasn't played since the opener. Putting him on IR changes nothing. Either you don't understand that or you are making up silly reasons to complain. Which is it?

Edit: I see this thread began before they added Slayton, which makes it even more ridiculous.
