How the Steelers take away opponents top weapons

They have done a good job of containing those guys:
Waller-Raiders
Diggs-Buffalo
Adams-Green Bay
Lockett/Metcalf/Seattle

Agreed. Maybe if there is a penalty and they end up with a third-and-20, consider a pass.

When I saw the title of thread my first thought was the other team has injuries. Kind of like Seattle didn't have their top weapon.

 

With Keenum at QB... Browns will be a lot more run-heavy. This could get ugly quick.

 

I mentioned that on another thread. I think the Steelers would be better off if it was Mayfield, especially with him trying to play through the injury.

In all seriousness, Keenum is going to have to make some plays. The Steelers are going to load up on the run and dare the Browns to beat them through the air. They have no choice but to play it that way.

 

Agree. Steelers will have to sell out to stop the run. Hopefully, the secondary can limit the splash plays.

 

I am anxious to see how the Steelers take away the Browns running game this week.

The bye week should have allowed the Steelers to reinvent the wheel with their defense and come up with a game plan to stop the Browns running attack.

 

I am more concerned about what adjustments they will make vs the lack of any by us. I saw on tv today a headline that said something to the effect the MT is little concerned about who starts for the Clowns. Obvious lack of game planning tactics set aside, I can take that one of two ways. 1. He is just BS ing and no one knows what the hell he is thinking, lol, or 2. We're going to do what we're going to do no matter what or who is on the other side of the ball and by God we're stickin to it. Is there a third opinion on what this means? Doesn't seem we ever change.

 

Count me in as someone anxious to see this too. Lets hope we don't start the same way as last time. That would be an improvement right off the bat.

 

If I am Keith Butler I'm thinking any possible way to slow down the Browns running attack. If its Baker or Case, I want either one of them to try to beat me.

 

IMO..Keenum is better than baker

 

JMO, but I took it as..
1. The browns are a good team no matter who the Qb.
2. Not much difference between the Qbs.
3. You have 2 stop the Run 1st no matter who the Qbs they are playing.

 

Then we are more doomed than usual.

AV was past his prime, but he was better at stopping Garett than Moe the rookie will be.
