The OP must not know how much of an idiot Filliponi is that he would find the need to quote one of his tweets as the topic for a thread.

What's Ben's record against inferior QBs?

I have seen plenty of Filliponi tweets, I know he's a clown and doesn't speak for the team, I was just using that as a example.

Was going to say much the same thing. Smith looked a much improved player.

Seattle D is 31st ranked only better than Chiefs D. They will look like the 2nd coming of the 00 Ravens tomorrow night. Wait and see.

Tomlinisms aside, your argument would make more sense without the hyperbole. Seattle's defense is bad, but it's a bit early to claim they are historically bad.

I had no idea Geno Smith was still even in the league until Russell Wilson got hurt. I already thought Filliponi was a toolbag. If he thinks any backup QB will be a bye week for the Steelers, then he sure hasn't been paying attention.

Two things are for certain with the jets or at least have been for a while as they are truly a dumpster fire organization with bad culture.

!. if a star/stud player signs there they are nowhere near the player they were before.

    2. If a player leaves there they become a better player on their new team. (Geno Smith is not gonna win an MVP but he's way better than he was with the Jets. Just like darnold).

No matter how they win nothing will happen re: the lineup, but if Ben struggles to move the ball/put up points against these bums they need to use the bye week to get Mason ready.

Not in the W-L column, but last year the lack of them was a harbinger of a season-ending crash.

There's no excuse for Tomlin and company. Losing this game should be a fire-able offense.

No Russell Wilson, No Chris Carson, and this Seattle D has been awful so far this season.

It wasn't the cause. Roethlisberger broke down as the season went on, which was a big part of limiting the offense and making it so predictable. The defense lost Bush and Dupree, leaving them far less athletic and very thin at linebacker and it showed.

I think what little hope this year's team has lies in getting the defense healthy. That means getting to the bye week with no more injuries and hopefully getting Tuitt back. I just don't see them being good enough up front without him. The Browns and Ravens are going to run all over the Steelers if they don't have their guys out there.

The offense isn't going to get much better, though last week was a sign of progress, especially the run game. The line isn't good enough to do that every week, but it can be better than it was in the first four games.

He's gonna play here next year too! Gonna switch Rodgers and him in and out as starting QB.

Look at the Ravens lately and tell us again about style points. The Ravens needed a blown call and a 66-yard field goal to beat the Lions, arguably the worst team in the NFL. They needed the Colts to lose pretty much their entire secondary and miss a field goal and an extra point to sneak by Indy, which is not a good team. Were those harbingers of doom? You may want to check what the Ravens did to the Chargers today before you answer.

Sure, there are trends, but each game is a new start. Sometimes, bad things happen and what should be an easy win ends up being a tight struggle. Sometimes things snowball and you end up blowing out a very good opponent. The Steelers' first and last meetings with the Browns last season were perfect examples of snowball games. They were actually fairly comparable teams, but in both cases, they snowballed out of control.

All the other BS aside, the OP is spot on. The Steelers can't afford to take Sister Mary Elizabeth's School for Wayward Children "Galloping Llama's" for granted.

I was close. If it weren't for super human effort from TJ Watt....Steelers lose to Geno Smith and Seahawks.
