Just read that Redman will get the start as Dwyer and Mendy will not play this weekend

Good lord. It sure would be nice to see some consistency at the RB position.

It would be even better if and or when we can have all 3 healthy at the same time and rotate or split the backfield.

Yea, but it's a no brainer to attack the Giants secondary. This is a match up that is better served by passing to set up the run. Dink and Dunk to create 3rd and shorts which is better suited for Redman anyways.

I'm sorry ,but the pessimist in me ain't feeling this one.what else can go against us? If we are somehow able to pull this off this can be the turning point of our season for sure. Well I'll be at the game rooting hard ,fingers crossed ,
trying to do my part as a fan. I think the team with the greater backs against the wall attitude gets it done. Both teams have inconvenience issues and ample motivation,so we shall see. I would love our chances at full strength. We are damaged goods. Guess I gotta have faith right?

Isaac Redman as a 3rd option is pretty damn good if you ask me. The anti-Mendenhallism of fans is still beyond me. The idea that he is passing up holes that other backs aren't is just fantasy. I can think of a few runs Dwyer had against Cincy right off the top of my head that Mendenhall would have been crucified for. On two runs he was clearly supposed to go up the middle, had good blocking, and tried to go outside anyway. On one he was stuffed, and on the other he was stuffed and Heath was called for holding, which only happened because Heath thought Dwyer was going inside and wasn't prepared for his defender to start running the wrong way. It was the same crap last year with Redman (he doesn't dance and hits the hole hard, blah blah blah) and now it's about Dwyer. They all do the same stuff, but people only notice it when it happens with some of them. How convenient.

If all backs are 100% healthy, Mendenhall is the clear #1, followed by Dwyer. Those are the only two complete backs on the roster. Redman, Batch, and Rainey are all specialists and valuable in their own ways. But I still like Redman as a backup. He's the next most complete guy. I'd rather he didn't start, but hey, our top two guys are down, so what are you gonna do?

really happy about all 5 options the team has for the backfield
yes they all have their pros n cons
this will be a game where we get to see just how the oline is coming along
it's not ideal but batch and rainey can go up the middle too, although i like them catching out of the backfield
    wish they all were healthy

Dwyer is light years ahead of redman as a running back. In saying that, I have full confidence that redman is going to roll up over 100 yards on the gIants defense. We are really going to see haley's offense sunday. Quick passes and a lot of running. We aren't going to let ben get into the teeth of their pass rush. I dOn't know if we will win this game, but I expect to see some great offensive play calling.

Back to 3.1 YPC vs, 6.1YPC.

This is SO frustrating! Can we not keep ANYBODY healthy for more than a 2 game stretch? I thought for sure Dwyer would be ready to go by this week. His injury didn't look serious. It appeared he hurt himself when he went down trying to stay in bounds, which was a smart play. Just a question. Could Dwyer be a little soft? I've noticed that many times during the course of the game he's motioning to the sidelines for some relief. Has anyone else noticed this? I love Dwyer and I'm hopeful that he asserts himself as the starter, but he seems to be one that's prone to these nagging injuries that suffocate a career. Could that be Tomlin's issue with Dwyer?

I'm not so sure this is entirely true. I think the thing that impressed me the most about Dwyer the past two games is that there have been quite a few runs up the middle that he has squirted through very small, moving holes that a back his size has no business getting through, and racking up some big gains. I don't remember the last time I saw Mendenhall thread the needle on a gut run like that.

Despite dwyer's immense talent, I think there's little doubt that his level of conditioning is nowhere close to where it needs to be to be an nfl running back. You are correct, after any long run, he takes himself out of the game. He has the talent and now that He has shown it, he needs to continue to work his tail off to get in better shape. I would not label him soft, he just needs better conditioning

i agree. i agree with steel city too. he has after nearly every game played had some type of injury. mostly foot. turf toe. something. he does well when asked, but there is something amiss with him. dedication may be part of it. he's a smart kid and he's very young. he's never seized the moment though with alot of chances. i like our backfield though from top to bottom. health is an issue as it seems to be all around. maybe it is time for them to look at giemonts methods.

Lol. This is funny. I got blasted for mentioning Dwyer being injury prone and now here it is being discussed.

He seems to always be hurt, but that's just my perception, I haven't actually looked at his numbers to be honest.

    <ducking in yet again>

Redman is not a starter caliber RB, and seemingly needs a rest after every run!

    That may do it!
