Not to make light of a terrible situation...
But sometimes, I just can`t resist..
They should wear their throwbacks again, and take an "old fashioned bus trip"...
Really... New Jersey, is all of what?... 4 hour road trip from Pittsburgh PA?!?...
Or less???... Here`s to the "Old School"!!!
I do appreciate, that they are throwing their routine off, to save some space for displaced homeowners, in the town they are traveling to...
But it might do some good for some of the younger kids on the team to get a LITTLE idea of how teams used to travel,
"back in the day", before players could almost afford their own private airplanes to get them from city to city...
Again... this is a "hop, skip, and a jump", to New York... They aint goin cross country on the bus...
Maybe it would lead to some "team unity", and an appreciation for the rookies/younger players(Young Money Crew), on just how good they have it... :hmmm:
Started this reply as a joke, but the more I think about it, after seein some of the videos posted of the team`s travel trips...
It wouldn`t hurt for them to have to "slum it", a little, and see how the rest of the country lives..
That buys the tickets, that pay their salaries!
    O.k...
Off my soapbox, now. Rant over.. Sorry... :-(
    GO STEELERS!!! :yeehaw:

You make some good points bleed but its more like a 7 hour bus trip from Da Burgh.....Dont think I want my team playing a game after a 7 hour bus ride.

Yeah i like what bleed said,,why can't they take a bus or even drive themselves(or at least have their personal drivers do it) .should be plenty of parking at the stadium ..
It is good that they are not going in early and bumping people out ,,too bad the marathon runners don't see it this way !!
Its a tough spot to be in,,while i personally think the game should be played at a later time ,i understand how it is near impossible to reschedule it..Not impossible though..

Not sure why they would take a bus or drive. They are going to get there in plenty of time after a very short flight.

Mike and Mike were suggesting it should have been moved to Philadelphia (apparently the Eagles are away)....

I think it's a good idea, the players get to stay at home an extra night, probably sleep better than they do at a Hotel, I know I would, take a short flight to NY, kick the giants ass and fly back home to sleep in their own bed again, sounds great to me....

They are not staying at home. They are staying at a hotel in Pittsburgh Saturday Night.

Thats OK too, half of the giants players are staying in hotels and bunking up with other players whose houses are still in tact, Carr said his wife and 4 kids are staying in one room at a hotel, so they are more inconvienced than the steelers right now, and I doubt if they were very focused in practice with all thats going around them, this could be a sloppy game for them with all the distractions...

Staying at a hotel in Pittsburgh is a good move as they can have their normal meetings and meals on the eve of the game.

It could be, but it could also give them something more to play for. Look at the Colts first game after their coach was diagnosed with cancer, they played extremely well and beat GB. These emotional games worry me. NYG have something to play for that we don't. They have an extra little bit of motivation and emotion. Hate to say it, but I'm betting on the Giants this week.

I also cringe a little when I think of the emotional impact of the game for NY. As if the Giants aren't a hard enough team to beat anyway. All in all, I still say we have the advantage. The Giants have had less time to game plan this week, and under bad conditions at that.

Ahmad Bradshaw talks about the emotional meaning of the game here:

The Giants' D got torched for 437 yards by friggin' Tomy Romo. What do you think Ben is going to do against them?

Tony Romo finds ways to lose games, but he is a very good passer. He can light up a lot of teams in the league.

Never said he wasn't, just saying don't discount the Giants D just because Romo lit them up. Romo is a very good passer. He puts up good stats, he just finds ways to lose.

Does anyone think the people in NY who have lost their homes, cant get back to work, and had to relocate their family, really cares about this football game, it might be emotionaly important to some, but I doubt if it is at the top of the list for most people in NY at the present time, it would be hard for me as an NYG player to put this game at the top of my priorities if my house was under 10 feet of water and my wife and kids were staying in a hotel room, I might be wrong but I couldnt concentrate on a game under this situation.....

After saying what could be a disadvantge for the Gs, the giants are a solid football team, and even when they arent playing their A game they win, so anything short of a total mistake free game by the steelers, their chances of winning this game is 50-50 at best.....

While I rarely agree with this CBS Sports online reporter (Freeman) - he does bring up some valid points about diverting resources to an entertainment event in lieu of the ongoing disaster recovery. Maybe Pittsburgh should also send over a few hundred troopers to watch over matters and keep an eye on the local "wise guys". Although if Gov Christie could afford a few hours to just stand behind the Steelers bench during the game - that would certainly keep all 53 players and related personnel shielded and out of harms way.

Please have extra gas on hand. There really is a limited places you can get gas. And the wait time at most of the stations are 2-5 hours. I live in CT and I have family that lives in NY and I know.

they are still making rescues on staten island i saw and people were pissed they were going to use resources for a sporting event. ( the ny marathon) how will our team get there , be protected, get back out of jersey and get out of NY when there is such a mess there? they should have moved this game.
