Hey guys what do you think the chances are that this game could get postponed or cancelled?? I live in MN and have both plane and game tickets for this wknd but am having my doubts about making it. I've been glued to the news, and hoping everyone gets through this storm safe!

You'll be fine and so will the town. The storm will have bugged out by then.

I know the storm will be over with, I'm just worried about the aftermath like if the power will be out or airports still closed...

If there are problems in the area, they may move it to another stadium.

I think it's possible that the game is moved to Monday night, and it's also possible that the game is moved to another location.

Highly doubt this will affect anything on Sunday.
I live a bit inside of Pitt, and we are catching the edge of it here in NorthEast Ohio... pretty nasty... Glad I`m not on the coast...
But I doubt it will have any effect by Sunday...
Did have to worry a bit when our local electric company, called us to warn us, that we might wanna stock up on bottled water, since they noticed we had well water, and they couldn`t gaurantee service thru the next couple days...
Wow... That doesn`t inspire a lot of confidence... At least they warned us, I guess.. Or were they just trying to avoid lawsuits? LOL...
Funny... "Renegade" just came on the radio...

Stadium and air ports will have working generators. They will play by then and I bet all air ports are online by Saturday too

I think its more about how well the statium survived. Is it flooded?idid large pieces fall off the structure to make it unsafe? Believe me the airports will be open and there will be electricity for sure by Sunday. Worse case senario we have an unscheduled home game. LOL :herewego:

It's the right thing to do. When Katrina happened, the Saints played a home game at the Meadowlands. So I see no reason for them to not play a Giants home game in Pittsburgh. :herewego:

Do you remember the old game called "telephone," where one person tells a person a secret and then that person tells it to another, and so on? The whole point is that through various people, the message changes.

We see that here, interestingly enough.

The original Tweet via NYDN writer is this: "NFL says no damage to MetLife Stadium and they are preparing to have Giants-Steelers play as scheduled on Sunday."
Somehow that message turned into THIS message from the source listed above: "the New York Giants will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday."

There's a difference between saying something WILL happen and saying you are PREPARING for it to happen.

I am sure the game will go on as scheduled, but I would also not be surprised if issues arise in the next 24-48 hours that causes the league to change its mind. But this is another instance where it appears not even our journalists understand semantics anymore and will change the meaning of something/anything to fit a story.

    http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/giants ... for-sunday

Notice this line from the NYDN story itself: "That could change, of course, due to the widespread destruction and flooding in the area, but as of now the two teams will kickoff as scheduled at 4 p.m. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said via email that the league will 'stay in close touch with public authorities' just in case."

Looking for a little help here, I am in the process of securing tix for the game. Does anyone recommend getting the parking pass for Met Life Stadium or should I save the money and do the bus-in option. Thoughts? Thanks.

Just wanted to say, My bad, for forgetting this was scheduled at the New Jersey Stadium.
Was thinking this was a home game. Might turn out to be, but I doubt it... My Bad...

Airports are opening up already, which is surprising if you saw the damage at JFK and LaGuardia.

    Game on!

I am going to the game and bought a parking pass on Stubhub. I did this after talking to 2 friends who attend games there regularly, and they said it was an absolute must. Otherwise, it can take hours to get out there, due to the wait for the buses.

Last time I was there was when they lost to the Jets in 2007. This is when they were still building the new stadium and the parking lots were limited. I was planning to use the shuttle, but was given a pass for free by a Jets fan (!) whom I asked directions from at a local convenience store. (I am a NJ native, if that helped).

In 2000 and 2004, when I saw the Steelers play there I took a shuttle from the NY Port Authority into and back, as I was staying in Manhattan those times. It was fine.

However, given the storm and the NYC Marathon that day, I am glad I am driving down from Albany NY this time and not getting anywhere near the city.

Thanks for the reply and your input J A 45 I figured as much and did end up going for the pass. I'll be driving in from upstate as well. I was at the game in 2007 also and the shuttle ride back to the car was painful in so many ways. I am hoping for a different outcome this time ,more like the last time we played the Giants in N.J. :towel:
