The brunt of the storm hasn't hit northern Delaware yet, just a lot of wind and a little rain. Hoping I don't need to use the generator I picked up this morning.

I'll be flying out to Vermont in less than 2 weeks. Hopefully nobody gets hit too hard, but some officials are saying certain areas could possibly lose power, and not get it back for a couple of weeks.....

    Be safe everyone.

We drove home last night after game so we would not have to today and glad we did. Lots of rain here in southeast VA. One of the bridges over a main river is about to have the river go over the bridge!

Still relatively calm here. Only an occasional gust of 35 mph or so.

Of course, the worst of it isn't supposed to reach us until later today. Hoping its bark is worse than its bite inland.

Hopefully other than some minor flooding, this storm won't be as nasty as they're making it out to be.

Stay safe Steelers fans...and I guess other teams fans should probably stay safe too. lol

The massive amount of snow being forecasted from WV mountains down through southwest VA and the NC/TN border could be very problematic. Forecasts are for WV to get 3 feet of snow in the higher elevations, 2 feet in southwest VA and 12-18 inches along the border of NC/TN.

I expect this to hit NY harder than Pittsburgh. Wonder if this will impact the Giants' preparation.

Just saw an update online and am starting to get nervous. The storm is making a bee line (pun intended with all of the bummble bee talk) for my area and the nasty stuff is supposed to hit around 3am.

    Muck Fe!!

I can go 2 weeks if we ration. A week with comfort easily. :)

Could last a month if needed, but it would be a meager existence.

I have 5 big trees surrounding my house. They've weathered other wind events. If the power goes out, it goes out. I just hope one of these suckers doesn't crush one of my cars, or my house. :praying:

Where are the servers for this site located? Any risk of this site going down for a few days?

I have huge, old oak trees in the park across the street from my house and they are swaying pretty hard. There are several that could hit my truck, a few that could hit my front porch and probably 1-2 that could reach my house.

They are saying people are more in danger from the flooding then they are from the wind.

That's good. We can go a pretty long time if need be. My wife teasingly calls me a 'prepper', but she won't say a peep during a natural disaster. :D

They're in Texas so we should be safe. Kind of you funny you should ask though. We'll be implementing upgrades and switching to more robust servers very soon, which will have the site offline temporarily. I was thinking of doing it this week (with ample warning to everyone), but given the strong possibility that I may be without internet at home, I think it may need to be delayed.

Good to know, although I guess if the majority of this site is without power, the site itself may as well be down as there will be no posts. lol
Hopefully you guys don't all lose power though, and not so I have something to read on here. Being without power is awful at the best of times, let alone when it's starting to get cold out.

Ha, true enough. Luckily it's not brutally cold yet. Extended power outages in mid-January are much more fearsome, though I guess there's never really a good time to be without power.

Here's an interesting comparison between Sandy and Irene.

I could be wrong about this, but I don't believe Sandy has merged with that cold front yet, so in a way the worst is still to come.
