Unless you are getting blown out or are blowing someone out, it sure seems like many games' outcome are determined by one or two big plays. Sure, all the others matter, but some seem bigger than others. Against the Bills, it was a blocked punt (yay for us). Against the Raiders, a 60 yd. bomb for a TD (boo for us).

Maybe the Steelers are embracing this. On D, they go for the sack/fumble or harassing the QB producing an interception (with most of stars on D out yesterday, not gonna happen). The offense relies on a chance at a big play - deep 50/50 balls for either a TD or PI, especially on short yardage downs. This team is not built for sustained, march-'em-down-the-field drives. That's why they abandon the run so quickly - they are looking for the big score.

That is the difference I see in Canada's approach. The short crossers and slants seem to be gone in favor of the more frequent (but so far not successful enough) deep strike. Still have the bubble screens in place of a running game, but I think we are going to see lots of deep throws chucked up on a hope and a prayer, hoping for the determine "big play".

This is still Ben's offense. We wont know what canada can do until he has a QB that is willing to be molded and or try something new. Ben is not that guy, never has been. Why do you think thru all the OC's we have had over the years the problems remain the same? Its very simple. Common Denominator is Ben. Been saying it for years. Ben is Lazy and got by off of talent for too long. Now that he can't do that it shows even more. Add in his prima donna attitude of being uncoachable and you get what we have year in and year out.

We are seeing some of Canada's schemes at work. All the disguising of similar plays with different motions and alignments.

However it's still Ben at QB and he's limited and predictable.
