So do we call Dwyer mini bus or micro bus

Or is it too early for comparisons

 

I don't dig the comparisons at all. I don't care if he's big and has good feet for his size. He doesn't remind me of Bettis one bit. Even the way he breaks tackles is different from how Bettis broke them. They're nothing alike except the team they play for.

 

I still like my suggestion in the other Dwyer comparison thread....the Short Bus....hahaha

 

Just call him Dwyer.

 

Okay, that's not bad. Definitely suitable during his first couple of seasons here, because he was acting like a total... not sure if I'm allowed to say that anymore.

I saw this somewhere I thought it was catchy mini bus Dwyer.

 

I just read that Hines gave him the nickname 'minivan' last year. I kinda like. It gives him his own personality.

 

I like Dwyer, good name.

To me he does look like the Bus, breaking tackles and once he gets rolling, but that's me.

 

I agree, why do we need to compare him to Bettis? Tough shoes to fill considering he weighs about 40 pounds less than the Bus.

LOL. I was calling him that during the preseason. Then last week after Cincy I started saying it again but someone said it was too insulting. LOL.

 

So thaaaaaaaaaaaaaats what BJ stands for...after all these years I never knew...hahaha

 

Its just what people do...they always have to compare someone to someone who was there before and might be similar. Its generally easier for someone to say yeah that guy is similar to Bettis in how he plays...than saying that guy Dwyer is good and runs hard and breaks tackles/runs people over, etc. I dont always like comparisons either but it is what it is...

I think Larry Foote has been calling him the "Minivan".

 

He actually reminds me more of Barry Foster than he does Bus. Foster was quick to hit the hole and good at breaking tackles, much like Dwyer.

 

I think people are making the comparison because one of the commentators in last week's game said something similar, so it just kind of took root and now it's something to talk about.

 

Exactly. They made the comparison in yesterday's game also...he may not be Bettis but he has a similar running style that I LOVE!!

 

He's a bigger than average guy with nimble feet so that why you have the comparisons. But honestly, he doesn't get a nick name until he has a long term contract with us.

Yeah LOL. When someone else started calling him the Short Bus I was saying that I was calling him that in the preseason and then after this past game with Cincy. Then I got reminded that I was calling him Pay Load but I forgot to put that on here. I'm glad you remembered. LOL.
