Complete balanced running and passing attack. Ate up the clock so that RGIII had his limited chances. Thank god his WR's and RB's couldn't catch the ball because the Steelers just may have lost that game and then we'd all be screaming for DL's head even though he still is great statistically speaking.

If Haley were with the Steelers 3 yrs ago then it propbably would have cut down on my near cardiac arrests that BA was shoveling me. Even though they ran that bubble screen 4 times it still has so many other plays mixed in which keeps the other teams defense off balance. The big thing though is Heath Miller and the 3rd down conversions. Far superior than any thing Arians could ever succeed in.

I'm expecting some one to post stats nearly identical from TH to BA but I can see with my own 2 eyes how much of an improvement this offense appears to click.

I don't care what kind of stats anyone posts. Right now under Haley we have a much better flow.

    Yep.

I said in the Burfict post... remember this post when you want to dismiss a suggestion of taking on someone with a checkered past. I know I mentioned very early on that Haley as our OC would be a great hiring, and a lot of people scoffed. Sometimes you gotta take a risk.

...and now I want Rex Ryan if/when he's fired :)

As one of the first to suggest that Todd Haley should be hired by the Steelers, I've been sold on him for quite some time. I also predicted that Heath and Ben would be huge beneficiaries of Haley's offensive ideology. So far, so good.

what about the 2nd half? why can't we put these games away and out of reach?

they played it well in the first half until we got the ball back and had a chance to at least get a FG before half. then again it looked like we got cute and started forcing things. we still have not played a complete game yet on offense with the firepower we have.

don't get me wrong i liked the win, but i'm not ready to annoint haley or this offense as a completed project yet. i wanna see it play a 60 minute game like they are capable.

i never had doubt , if ben follow haley he will get better every week , and that's scary .... for the opponents :swordsman:

i can't understand why ben loved arians that with his playcalling was attempting at his life

FYI: Emmanuel Sanders had the fourth quarter catch that likely would have iced the game. He dropped it. I know a lot of Arians supporters used the "he is not the one executing" argument, and that is correct. But I don't see how anyone who's watched this team closely over the past few years can't see that this offense now has a "design" to it. Arians' o seemed to have no rhyme or reason to it at all, no strategic approach.

I actually don't see much of a difference truth be told. We were at the bottom of the league rushing for the first qtr of the season and that was attempts and yards per carry. I see at least 3 bubble screens a game, the biggest difference is there is a lot less dropped passes this year. The bengal game when Wallace was dropping all those passes, that is what got BA in trouble, and it is the truth and yes, I'm sticking up for him not because he was a good oc, in fact he was far from it, but I believe he took more blame than he needed to. The redzone problem we had with BA had a lot to do with guys dropping passes or ramone foster missing a block, and the first and goal situations when we couldn't run it in were all on the o-line, there isn't an oc in the league that is going to call a play that will work in that situation as long as the defenders hit the RB before he even gets near the line of scrimmage. I will give TH credit though as the home run tries are down from what we used to see under BA.

Exactly right! I was born in the Burgh in 68 and my memories go back since 74. Made it through the sheer hell of the 80s and I must say, although I do realize that we are only 7 games in - I dont remember our offense looking this smooth in many many years. What Haley is doing is impressive. He is using our weapons with balance the way it should be.

If we are healthy at the end of the year (provided we make the playoffs) then watch the hell out because we will be looking at number 7!!

    Go Steelers!! :yeehaw:

what does that have to do with what i said? why haven't we been able to put a team away yet? what the hell does that have to do with BA? we had one TD in the last 34 minutes of this game. i for one can see that is not stellar. i don't care who's offense it is. there are tons of OC's out there that could make things run smoother. i'm just saying this one is not finishing games. much like BA's i might add. i don't think it's time to do the SB shuffle yet with this offense.

    It's situational football.
BA prepares for every team the same way except for once in a blue moon.

Some people are never satisified, haha!

I for one love how the O is looking and tip my hat to Haley for some good play calling AND to the players for executing those plays.

Keeping Ben on his feet is all due to Haley's game plan. Of course Ben is a great player- no one is suggesting he isn't.

why should we be satisfied with only scoring 1 TD in the last 34 minutes of the game? a FG would have made it a 3 score game, but again we couldn't put it away.

You're funny! We won by 15 points! What do we have to win every game by 50? Give it a rest you're argument is week!

At times I think I was the only person alive that thought getting rid of BA was a bad idea. Overall, you can critique til the cows come home, but we won a ton of football on his watch. We even managed two SB appearances despite what everyone calls mediocre coaching.

I have to admit the O has looked much better. OCs have to be the most reviled people on the planet at given moments. I now think bringing Haley in now will eventually be the right move. I was worried about timing but there is plenty of time to get Ben and gang on board.

Arians one yet another game today as head coach..

I don't think he was near as bad as others here made him out to be but having Haley mix it up has really made a difference

I didn't think BA was that bad, but always had an uneasy feeling about him the last couple years. Never warmed up to the way he treated the running game. In a lot of ways he reminded me of Mike Martz. So far I do like Haley much better, but we'll know more by the end of the season.

    Yes, yes yes!

I think if Ben was healthy last year we go a little further than we did, and probably pull out a win at San Fran. I don't think we'll have to worry this year about an injured QB late in the season because he's been very clean to this point in the season and it's all by design.

Sanders is very reliable, but that drop was a big one. or could have been. it would have iced the game and it had big play written all over it.
