We can all bring stats to the table but I want the gut feelings.

This crew starting 0-1, I think may actually help. There are a ton of unproven guys that a loss may help galvanize the work.

Id prefer to not start 0-1 but I don't think it's doom.

Im with Fe3CCity & Heinz, they need no big heads, and an angry team entering the playoffs.

We should just be happy to be alive to watch another season. No need to capitulate the first game.

Save the crying and moaning until after we lose, if we do. LOL.

Doom Boom if Ben is injured its all doom. But i have a suggestion. since TJ gets all kinds of money . Maybe he should be back-up Qb or Rb or anything Wr . Hes the money man make him earn every penny.

If we lose first game I'll remember that a 12-5 season would be amazing so we still have 4 more to lose:)

Whether I would feel optimistic or gloomy depends on how we play, and how our play could translate for the rest of the season. I also want to see answers to some of our big question marks. Most specifically, #1 does the O line open up holes in the running game and give Ben time in the pocket vs. a solid defensive front; #2 do we have a capable second outside corner and slot corner; #3 is Schobert the answer at ILB. There are plenty of other questions, but these stand out to me. If these questions are answered in the affirmative, my optimism for the season will increase substantially.

this is a must win off the bat i think. we will likely face these guys in the playoffs. i hope we set them back for that home field advantage. build confidence in these new players. a lot has to come together for so many new players meshing with the old. nothing like beating a playoff contender to start the machine rolling.

Oddly, if the Steelers win I think it plays out like this. Najee takes the league by storm and Buffalo doesn't know what hit them. The other way it could play out is that they stone him early and often and by mid-2nd quarter we're down 10 and the offense is back to five-wide, chuck and duck.

setting the pace is huge i think this year mad dog. they don't get much easier the rest of the year. if we are going anywhere, these are the ones we need. show we belong right out of the gate. we have a franchise QB and the highest paid defensive player in the game, show them why we are forgotten contenders.

Reminds me of a poster from original message board named hillbilly (something like that) and his only post each week was, "they suck, we'll crush them".

I’m just excited for football. I don’t mind letting go and cheering my team on regardless of how they stack up on paper. I’m not going to over analyze every facet of the team. I just wanna watch and enjoy it.

Hillbilly biker or something to that affect. I remember reading his posts and thinking that he had to be inbred and illiterate.

Even if we lose but keep the game close I think it will be encouraging. I could see a blowout w/Bills running away with it, but hopefully I’m wrong.

Man, you all are a bundle of joy this morning. Do yourselves a favor and go to the zoo or mall or do something else other than watching the game today.

I'm looking forward to a very competitive game and hopefully a Steelers victory.
