Establish the running game, the Bills were ranked 20th last season against the run, that will keep the ball away from Josh Allen.

The Bills weren't good at covering tight ends, it could be a big day for Ebron/Freiermuth.

Put constant pressure on Josh Allen, otherwise the Steelers will be in for a long day.

    Win the turnover battle

A.J. Epenesa, Gregory Rosseau and Carlos "Boogie" Basham are an excellent test for both Dan Moore Jr and Chukwuma Okorafor. Still more so worried about Chuks as it has been the more power based pass rushers that have given him fits. A.J.s game is primarily based on that; no fancy hand movement but rather one of pure power and sheer force. More so is the fact that A.J. or "Boogie" can easily transition to the inside as the Defensive Tackle Position is not foreign to them. Hopefully Kendrick Green can be 100% by the time Game One rolls around.

One major area I would like the Steelers to do this time?! Double Stephon Diggs but not in the same way every play. Bracket him if you need to. I do like it that Cameron Sutton has more experience than a year ago this time around but Stephon Diggs tore him a new one last season. Repeating that mistake again will also spell doom for certain.

Key #1: Force turnovers. I don’t see a way to win this game without taking the ball away.
Key #2: Run blocking. We need to run the ball consistently, and chew up the clock with long drives to manage our starting defense’s snap count. Our defense needs to be frosty for the 4th quarter, not worn out.
Key #3: Score TDs in the red zone. We’ll get to the red zone at least 2 or 3 times. We’re going to need to finish those drives with 7 points.

Really my #1 key to victory is for the Bills to not be quite ready to start the season. It seems unlikely that we’ll be fully ready to roll with the injuries on defense and an O line that needs to mature and gel.

Force bills qb 2 turn the ball over. I'm not sold on him yet like everyone else is. One year doesn't make a great qb.

I’d agree with you here. He probably is great but we need to see more. He and Diggs caught lightning in a bottle last year and I dont know if they can do it again at that level.

Don’t get me wrong they are a lock for the playoffs but there seems to be an assumption that they are going to take the next step and challenge the Chiefs this year but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see them take a little step backwards

Don't underestimate McDermott, he knows A. Reid better than most.
I don't follow Buffalo but if he has the guns on defense I'm going with the Chiefs watching the SB.

Play our game the way we played it in the 70’s. We will win then.

Run the ball, TOP will be key in this game. Can't have turnovers,
Match Buffalo's intensity. Ben can have success if he will let the play action
work . Defense must give us a chance to win late. Sorta like Dallas did last night.

    • Run the ball successfully with Najee, get him the ball in the passing game
    • Hit 1-2 big plays off of play action
    • Confuse Bills with motion (not just jet motion)
    • Have Haden follow Diggs, don't let them dictate that matchup
    • Force fumbles, Allen is a fumbler (31 in 3 seasons)

Also worth remembering that the Steelers forced the Bills into 5 punts and 2 turnovers last year.

The Bills averaged 2 punts a game that season. So the Steelers we’re doing something right.

The Bills are essentially the same team this year, so much depends on us getting better ToP, better run yardage and finishing drives.

Yeah I think the Steelers had the upper hand in the first half iirc but Diggs ran riot against a weakened Steelers secondary. The key on Sunday I feel is getting pressure on Allen and don’t let him get comfortable while limiting Diggs as far as possible

It’s a big ask but I dont think a Steelers win is out of the question if a few things go their way

I think they could survive with 1 turnover, but not with a game when Ben throws 2-3 ints.

    Najee scores his first TD
    Freiermuth scores his first TD
TJ gets 2 sacks, including a strip sack

36 is meaningless. Simply score more than Bills.

Sorry, I said the same - didn't see your post. But you're right - style points don't count, it's just simple math.

    1) Run Run Run: Stick with it and wear them and the clock down!

    2) Clock Management (TOP): If the score allows and the clock is running; get that play clock down to less than 5 almost everytime!

    3) Contain Josh Allen: Keeping him in the pocket will lead to sacks and TO!

    4) Field position: Pinning them deep with our defense should at least hold them to field goals.

I'm not saying lighting the world on fire but I have no issue with 20-9 td int at year 2.... Year 2! I'll give comp % but I don't think any of us here would be upset with him at QB as a Steeler.

That's nothing to .... Goff at.
