Is it me or does the media want RG3 to beat our boys tomorrow? I already know the commentators are going to be bias in their own sneaky way. All I’m hearing is RG3 this and RG3 that. How many games has his TEAM won again?????

He's the new sensation, media is eating it up, he gets talked about before every game, not just us. He should enjoy it while he can, just go ask Cam :lolol:

Well until one of these running qb's win a superbowl then I wouldn't want one on my team. Steve Young ran as much as you would ever want a qb to run. But his first option was to throw the ball. Randall Cunningham had his most success throwing the ball in Minnesota where he didn't run compared to in Philly where he took off all the time.

If Kordell Stewart had been a little bit younger (let's say 15 years) and he was a rookie now...
What do you think the media will say about him?
It's easy to say now that he was not RGIII, but during his rookie season he was a media sensation, even though there was no internet, NFL network and a lot of media stuff we have right now didn't exist then.

The guy is a special talent. A rookie with a 70% completion rate, one of 3 QBs with a 100+ rating and 6 rushing TDs... Why wouldn't the media talk about him?

I could care less how much they talk about him, as long as we beat him and his team!

Last year it was Tebow, this year it's "Fish-eyes", next year it'll be someone else. I seem to remember a lot of talk about Ben in his rookie year.

they were all over pennies just a recently , but not the shiny new ones but the ones from 84? and before because they are worth twice their value
and people are collecting by the tons

as far as RG3 he is the
    INXS - new sensation
American HiFi - flavor of the week
Eagles(really redskin)- new kid in town

i just hope we are able to contain and confuse him

I wonder what would have happened if Kordell had played in an offense tailor-made for him, like Griffin, instead of being forced to play Gilbride-style ball. Eh, it probably wouldn't have worked, since you can't have success running college-type offenses in the NFL. Today's defenses (by which I mean defenses in the '90s) are too sophisticated.

True. I do remember the hit where RGIII was knocked senseless a few weeks ago. He's spectacular to watch but all it takes is one hit.

Well being in MD I see alot of the Skins games and althought RG3 is a freak of an athlete and can run with the best of them, his first option is definitely to throw it. Even as a rookie, he keeps his eyes up the field all the time until he breaks the LoS. He's a good kid too and has a unique personality so with all that packaged in thats why its a media frenzy wherever he goes.

This pass defense didn't have to defend deep at all last week, and with the amount of respect RG3 will command from the box he could hurt us in the deep passing game tomorrow. Not trying to sound like some RG3 homer, lol, but we definitely need to stay on a swivel this kid can play ball.

I don't believe that RGIII will beat us all by himself but I do think that the kid deserves some of the press he is getting. As Scottchab pointed out, his stats are pretty good and he is playing well. If what he is doing doesn't merit recognition what, in some of your eyes, does? To the point of the media, well aren't we yelling every year that they are against us? Nothing new there!

    1. Let the media focus on RGIII all they want - the final score of today's game will be all that matters to the Pittsburgh Steeles.

    2. Big media stories like RGIII are good distractions for the media. The Steelers have their best years when they are "flying under the radar" as Bettis used to put it. While they are watching Andrew Luck, RGIII and Brandon Weewee, the old, decrepit Steelers are just starting to get the engine going. By December, the talking heads will wonder where this team came from. Assuming we get healthier and gain that head of steam that usually starts to build around now, I like our chances as much as anyone else's. The Steelers have the advantage of controlling things down the stretch - maybe not as big an advantage as any of us would have liked, but won't it be nice going into December knowing that our team is peaking at the right time, and teams like Baltimore and Cincinnati, and maybe even Houston - settled for early season dominance followed by late season mediocrity?

I know, I know, rose colored glasses. I can't help it. I'm a Steelers fan, and it's a 16-week season for a reason. With the misfortunes that Baltimore has had, and Cincy coming down to earth - along with the sheer hope/expectation that the Houston phenomenon will fade in December, I think that the Steelers could be set up for a successful 2nd half that takes the distracted media by surprise. Let them stare and stare and stare at RGIII and watch him finish at 8-8. It'll take their minds off of the best franchise in the NFL - the winningest team in the league in the last 40+ years. Git 'er done!!!
