I don't think Urban will be running much with that defense. Just babbling here.

It's just adrenaline and the kid wants to go. I get it and to me it's jaw dropping!
He's geared at a whole other level and you can tell he wants to shift.
He was just leaping cuz he wanted to go and not so much to advance.

Whirling dervish like, kind of amazing to watch.

Najee has the (it) factor, I can only hope he gets help?
He could be electrifying. And from what I read, a student of the game
and love's the sport. Good luck young man and hope you can play injury free.

Najee is fine. It did not just start on hurdling. He has done this since his Freshman Year in High School; second nature for him at this point.

Among the aspects I am concerned with Najee is really how often he is used. That is what should be discussed here.

I was watching the game on catch up and saw his first run was to the sideline. And my first thought was “wow, he’s taking Maddog’s advice...”

He would have been taking @Maddog78 's advice if he had kept running right through the tunnel, into the parking lot, and hurdled into his convertible, not to be seen again until week 1.

The offensive line needs to open some holes for this guy (Najee Harris) , especially against Buffalo, give our guys more offensive time on the field... he can make a difference but it is all about our offensive ad defensive lines... They have to play the running game...to compliment the passing game...
Defensively our line has to stop the run at the line of scrimmage not 5 yards down the field...
And we have to be able to get to the q.b. for sacks and pressure, T.J. Watt should be able to help in this area... We will need strong performances from a lot of new players...

I haven't been this excited about a player since Jerome Bettis and Troy Polamalu. Najee just seems like he is going to be a top notch player in this league. We will need him to be as the AFCN continues to be the toughest division in the league and is getting stronger every year.

Not sure the trainers know how to deal with a split infinitive, either.

I'm going to go and say more guys get hurt trying to cut on their runs, than they do trying to hurdle a defender.

Uh, I remember the boards when Ben was drafted. A ton of Steeler fans were excited that we finally had a QB who could make our boys a threat every season.

To be honest I never heard of Ben until the day he was picked but I trusted the guys who follow college ball.

It depends on what the Head Coach wants. We have seen with Bell "Run the Wheels" off of him.

Canada needs to get Ballage and McFarland Jr, involved. I hope he will.

That said Najee Harris wants be an every down including 4th in punt and field goal situations. He won't want to come off the field is what i'm saying.

He is going to be the focal point, a difference maker on this Offense helping Ol Ben keeping his throws down to 35 to 40 a game which hopefully lessens his pick total.

You wouldn't want to limit what Harris does. Its time though after the Lions game to shut him down till Week 1 and only play him a few series with Ben.

Guilty of not putting Big Ben in that Jerome and Troy grouping. I remember the day that the Steelers selected him and jumping up and down in my living room. Had Ben not lost that first game against Iowa in his Junior year at Miami Oh U then he would have easily won the Heisman and would have more than likely become a San Diego Charger. That single loss allowed him to fall to the Steelers at pick #11.

I live about an hour away from his college so it allowed me to view many of his games when he was playing. His Junior year he threw for 37 TD's Vs. 10 INT's and a 165.8 passer rating. After that 21-3 loss to Iowa the Redhawks won 13 straight while outscoring their opponents 599-221 or an average of 46-17 PPG. That was a very fun season to watch locally and even better knowing that the Steelers had him on their radar. Cowher wasn't exactly sold on selecting him but the organization simply couldn't overlook those stats.

Memo to Tomlin: protect your franchise RB, don't play him in a meaningless preseason game.

And another back hurt in preseason. Hope they have Najee in street clothes for the last fake game, and don't try to put everything on him from the jump.

What benefit do you think we'll get out of Najee running into crowds of defenders trying to make the Panthers team on Friday? Is that benefit crucial to him being ready for opening day, or do you think after the first couple series vs. Buffalo he'll remember how to play football?

I doubt he plays much if at all in the 4th game. That’s usually reserved for players trying to make the team.

He hasn’t gotten hurt through three games though, looks like you are fretting for nothing.
