I never understood rooting for one guy over the other on Your own team. Instead of just rooting for the best man

Either way, both Spillane and UG3 have been or have made bad plays in back to back games. Hopefully there are more ILBs on the waiver wire as neither are good... at all.

 

I want to see more of Haskins.

I agree, but Haskins likely has the highest upside of all three. He has a Howitzer of an arm.

 

Preseason is for entertainment value only, like fake wrestling.

 

Halftime hot take: #44 looks like he’s made the team after 2 preseason games

 

Spillane basically is living as a folk hero on two memorable plays last year. The hit on Henry, and the pick 6 against Jackson and the Rats. He's a borderline second string/third string. UG3 has done absolutely nothing in his pro career.

First Half Notes:


- Please (100x), Dan Moore Jr...


Win. That. Job. Yikes for Chuks. If he cannot handle someone like Josh Sweat, Myles Garrett is going to rip Big Ben a new one. SOS to Dan Moore, and, I repeat, WIN. THAT. LEFT. TACKLE. SPOT.


- Offensive Line overall, still very much a work in progress. That said, the lack of aggression from the first game to the second game is concerning, to say the least. Saw more of it though at the end of the First Half.. but that effort should be expelled by the First Team Offensive Line and not the second or likely third.


- Bush clearly is not 100%. As I have stated multiple times, it is going to be a while yet for him to get back to 100%. The overall athletic abilities are there but the lack of timing when opposing TE's break on their routes remain as well. Bringing in Joe Schobert will not only assist the overall Pass Coverage but also assist the development of Devin Bush Jr.'s abilities as well for Scho can be a tutor for him.


- Pierre, Jamir Jones, Dan Moore Jr and Rico Bussey came to play today! Very good but doubly happy for Pierre. Still has some issues in Zone Coverage but not nearly as egregious as Game 1. Jamir Jones is definitely making a push for the Practice Squad, a keeper for certain.


- Rudolph vs. Haskins once again undecided unless Haskins plays more in the Third Quarter. Rudolph did very well and could have led the team to a scoring drive but the Offensive Line let him down. Haskins did not have such problems but he still needs to be consistent.



- Feel bad for UG3. Had such potential in 2019 but those back injuries have clearly taken their toll. He has to win Special Teams or he is gone for good. Spillane.... just.... ugh....



More, as per usual but these are my biggest highlights.

Spillane also looked much better before he had that injury. He wasn't a quick or fast guy, and it seems like he's lost something.

Bush may be in the same boat. He's not looking as fast or explosive as he was before injury. Hopefully he's going to warm up as he gets more comfortable...
