Players to watch vs the Eagles

What players is everybody interested in focusing on and why?

For myself:

Mason: I still think he can be a starter and want him to prove it! Looks like he will have a mostly intact OL, Harris, and receivers.


Banner: Assuming he plays, hows the knee? I was
Excited for him last year so was
dissapointed when he down the first game.

Devin Bush: Same as Banner and I thought he was breaking out last year before the injury.

Justin Layne: Needs to show up and make plays!!

 

moore: looking for a good showing from him again.

killebrew: looking for a good showing from him again and hopefully moved down into the box some as well.

carl davis. looked pretty good last game.

rader also looked pretty good last game.

 

I forgot to add MacFarland. I wanna see him trust his RB instincts and stop thinking and actually follow his blockers.

 

I want to see Najee Harris hit the edge on his first snap, run out of bounds, and keep running to the locker room for the rest of the preseason.

 

Harvin. I personally think he's already cemented his position on the team, but we've been down this road before and they kept Berry. I want him to make it impossible to not keep him.

 

I see the Eagles are playing all of their starters with Jalen Hurts playing into the second quarter. Our old friend Joe Flacco will come and play until the fourth quarter.

 

It's funny that the most exciting player in preseason is a 7th round rookie punter.

 

Based on the trajectory you describe he would run into players and trip over the bench. I’m going out on a limb here and guessing you wouldn’t like that either?

 

On the NFL network the morning after the HOF game half of their highlights were about PH3.

I would have 2 agree with FbA98, and say I'm watching everyone, but I will keep a special eye out 4 the secondary.

 

Buddy Johnson. With the starters.

 

DB's, OL, ILB's

 

For me, it's the back up QB's and Oline. The whole season may just depend on those two groups alone if Ben starts showing his age early. The rest of the team won't matter if we can't control TOP.

 

I'd like to see what Ballage has other than a few situational assignments. I re-watched his TD last week and that was a thing of beauty with great blocking and determination. Sure, just pre-season and the D's aren't killing themselves on every play but was fun to watch. Reminded me of Eric Dickerson on just one play.

 

And after him, maybe the 4th string QB.

 

I don't know if he's playing, he missed several practices after with what Tomlin called a "lower body injury".

 

I don’t think he’ll play but I’d like to see Ingram on the field a bit and how he works with the D.

Also, will be interesting to see if Matthew Sexton steps up

 

Okay, that goes in the running for quote of the season. Brilliant!

 

I'm looking for Najee to do something impressive. Didn't see much against Dallas. He had good lean and moved the pile. That's expected from a feature back. But I'm waiting for an aha moment that tells me he's arrived and is going to be a force to be reckoned with. I haven't see that yet.

The "starting" OL. I need to see some running lanes and Mason having time to go through his progressions.

Speaking of Mason, he'd better start pushing the ball downfield. Preseason games are glorified practices. Practice your vertical passing game.

ILB's in coverage. Need to see improvement.

Secondary. I don't care who's in there or what package, but there shouldn't be 10+ yards of separation. No free runners.

 

Well I'm off. Got my Steeler underwear on which is only Steeler gear I'll wear tonight. Too old to defend myself from the Philly A-holes.

I'm 2-0 in pre-season games I've attended and both were against the Eagles. Have not been to Philly for a sporting event since a Flyer game. Sure the hell hope I don't see what I saw at that game.
