Cam is the greatest. He's said so himself.

I can see that but I also think the staff isn't known for pulling punches and the conversation between Haskins and Tomlin was more along the lines of Steve Roger's and Dr. Erskine he can offer him only a chance. Same here No promises just a chance. It's all up to him from there.

The knock on Dwayne Haskins seems to be that he is somewhat lazy and not very intelligent. I will root for him to be successful as a Steelers QB but I'm not expecting him to be.

Mason is ... he better ball in the preseason game, I'm not into making predictions, but if I have to .... Haskins plays well enough to be 2 and Mason ... I don't know , checkdown, interception, ... needs to show more or Haskins steps in and Dobbs at 3 ... what happens to Rudolph? Who knows.. v real chance Mason is either traded or cut... he needs to step up and show he belongs.. or...

But 6 TDs and 24 INTs did. It just took the guy a while to figure things out.

Sorry he can't be trusted to take the reins at this point.

Lets see how he performs tonight and through the pre season.

They took a chance on a chance with him. Lets see him put it ALL together before he anoints himself the future franchise QB.

That's it exactly! He looks great in camp playing pitch and catch without a defense. I'm sure I can be impressive without a defense too. Then the ball is hiked to me with guys trying tear my head off, it would be a different story.

Not sure why people keep saying this. Did I just dream it, or has the knock on him always been that he puts it all together and looks like the real deal until the pressure of the regular season takes its toll? If he holds true to form, he'll impress you through the pre-season. He'll look ready. But when it counts, he'll fold. And if he pulls the wool over everyone's eyes and takes over QB2 and Ben goes down, then, and only then, will the real DHask stand up.

Maybe he puts it all together and changes his stripes. I hope he does. But unfortunately, we won't know that until Ben goes down or retires.

Little known fact, Kyle Allen, who overtook Cam Newton on the Carolina depth chart at QB was the NFL Rush kid in the commercial saying he would be the QB of the Panthers with Cam as his backup and become Cam's mother's favorite player.

Big Difference is free agency. Also the Cap. No Qbs were taking a quarter of Your cap back then, and You could keep a team around them.
Today You typically can't wait that long.

If you ever got to hear Dwayne break down film when he was at OSU, you know he's far from stupid. Pretty bright, as a matter of fact. I've said this before here. Obviously the work environments were quite different between OSU and Washington. That's easy to understand. But all of us, when we left/leave school and take our first professional job have to learn the ropes at the new place, and adapt to how things work there. And Dwayne apparently totally and completely screwed the pooch on that. He and others can whine all day long about how much better it was at OSU and how much worse it was at Washington, but in the end those are just excuses. The person has to make things work, no matter where he/she is. And Dwayne obviously did not.

Now he's here. I dare say the work environment here is vastly better, both historically and currently, than it is in Washington. So no more excuses. Make it work Dwayne. I don't doubt that you can. But you have to do it. None of us rooting for you can do anything for you with that.

I'm pulling for Rudolph but without much hope. Seems Haskins is outplaying Rudolph in camp. I just hope if they go with Haskins as the number 2 he can carry that play over to the regular season. I don't think Mason has what it takes to be a starter in the NFL. But I've been wrong before
