You'll have a blast. Great fans, friendly people and if you love to eat you won't be disappointed.

I am almost alone on this board in saying Primanti Brothers is not a good place to eat. There are a ton of good places to eat though at the stadium. As a kid I remember araserve was the only choice! Ugh

Primanti's is just quirky. Honestly, their sandwiches would be fine without the coleslaw and fries. Strangely enough, the wife and I stopped at the one in Harmarville for lunch yesterday. She had pizza from there for lunch at work awhile ago and wanted to try it again. Let me tell ya, for a place known for their sandwiches, their pizza is pretty damn good. I was very impressed. And you're right regarding Araserve........expensive and awful. There are so many mom & pop places to eat is S.W, Pa.that are so much better than the big national chain restaurants. You might have to drive a little, but they're out there.

Welcome in advance to our fair city! Don’t worry about the Seahawks jersey, you will be fine, this is not Cleveland. If you still feel uncomfortable, buy a Hamburglar jersey. Only true hometown fans wear those.
1)I would say to take your son up the incline to Mt.Washington at night if schedule permits. The view is spectacular!
2)Unfortunately we don’t serve haggis at the stadium, but you might try some perogis.
    3) If you are into history, the stadium area was once a small island called Smoke Island, where the indians (or is it Guardians?) smoked their meat and fish. It is also where they tortured survivors of the Braddock expedition for days. The Browns were of course tortured there for much longer. There have been at least six stadiums in the immediate area (Exposition Park I,II,and III, Recreation Park, Three Rivers Stadium, PNC Park, and Heinz Field)
    4) The Shrine of the Immaculate Reception is easily accessible, the exact spot where Franco Harris caught the pass stupidly deflected into his hands by an Oakland Raider whose name is not worthy to be written here (but it rhymes with Hate Him).
    5) Don’t know if they still have it but there was an alcohol free section in the stadium. I have not had any issues sitting there or elsewhere.
    6) If you stay at Station Square, you can take the Gateway Clipper across the river to Heinz Field, and back again after the game.
Once again, welcome to Pittsburgh in advance and I do hope you will have a good time.
