2 things: it comes down to business, like Steven Nelson, so now we have more negotiating power if we want to pursue signing a free agent

the other is that I like Klemm, I dont think we are in that bad of shape, the o-line will be better than last year wether we bring in a free agent or not, and if we sign a new guy, bonus...

So will Dotson move to RG ? That`s his natural position and the one he prefers.

Depends on whether Klemm is any good, OLine is so dependent on coaching, continuity and rapport. It’s a tall order to get that unit working with all this change happening.

I can’t think of a precedent where a team has turned over their entire OLine personnel and coaching staff in one off season. It could be a total disaster

Former Pro-Bowl guard Trai Turner and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal, per Adam Schefter

What in the world is going on? We get nothing for him and lose the NFLs best pass protection in a blink. Why did it take this long? We let Big Al walk to division rival. Foster, De Castro, Pouncey all gone. I don’t even like the Nelson release. We couldn’t find the money to keep him? Brown , Bell fiasco.
For Tomlin reputedly being the players coach we alway hear the sure leave in droves!

how many starts does Banner have?

This has been the most horrific off season since after Tebow debacle. The year we drafted DeCastro in the 1st round and went 8-8.

The reports are his lingering ankle problems have him contemplating his career. Sounds more and more like if he can't be close to 90% with some slight pain he doesn't want to hurt the team both play wise and money wise.

Reports are that DD release was because of non football injury?

Add to that... DeCastro was on a HOF trajectory. I don't see it happening now. Can anyone compare his stats with Faneca's? DeCastro didn't play long enough.

It was obvious he was not playing up to his standard the last couple of years.

If Turner is healthy AND can stay healthy, then they might be alright. I mean, he's a vet, like DeCastro. None of the remaining o-lineman really have significant time playing with DeCastro. If Turner is at least as good as DD, then they are no worse off then they were thinking DeCastro was going to be the starting right guard again this year.

    I think it will be:

    LT Chuks
    LG Dotson
    C Green
    RG Turner
    RT Banner

    Backups: Moore, Coward, Haeg, Finney/Hassenauer

What were they going to get for him? Even if they tried to trade him he would have to pass that teams physical, and it appears he likely would not. Nelson wanted a long term deal as a number 1 CB, he isn't one. They let Big AL walk because his play was not worth the money he wanted. Foster was gone a year to late, likely the same for Pouncey. As for leaving in droves, look what happens to a lot of those who leave.

Haeg's signing was perplexing. yes he can play multiple spots in the line, but from everything I heard he sucks playing every spot on the line lol.
