    Hi All,

I am in need of some help. This will be my 3rd time to the Steel City but found out we are getting into town much earlier than I thought on Thursday. We are going to do the strip district, inclines, Heinz tour on Friday and of course the game on Sunday.

Are there any other must do's in Pittsburgh, like the zoo or anything like that? Looking to be able to waste 3-4 hours before we can check into the hotel Thursday afternoon. In addition have 3 kids that will be making their first trip to Pittsburgh.

    Thanks in advance!

    :yeehaw:

I would go to Primatti brothers in the strip, which I'm sure you have since you have been to Pittsburgh before. As far as place to go see, I would go to the Westeren PA sports muesuem between the strip and the convention center, good place to burn 3-4 hours. Never been to the Pittsburgh Zoo, but I hear good things. Not sure the ages of your kids, but I think Kennywood is still open too. But other must do's you have already mentioned, such as the inclines. Hopefully I make the game too, trying to score some tickets for the wife and I.

The museums, the Natural History museum has a great collection of dinosaurs, the art museum (it's good for them) is world class, or if they are young the Children's Museum. There is also the Science Center next to the stadium and you can run into the casino while your wife takes them to a movie in the science center.

Just a note, depending on where you are staying, you can sometimes request an early check in time by calling the hotel the morning you are planning to arrive. We did that during our visit a few weeks ago and were able to check in at 11 instead of 3.

I took my kids (ages 5 and 6) to the Science Center and they loved it. Right across from Heinz. Also did the Children's Museum and they liked that too (not as much as the Science Center though). The Pitt Zoo is also a good spot. Not too over sized so you don't have to walk miles. Depending on their ages these places might be an option.

I was up a couple weeks ago and some of the posts in this thread helped.

These are all good selections for families traveling with children,
Have a great time and be careful.Depending on thier ages, they may also enjoy an incline ride
to the top of Mt Washington. No better view in America,

No better view in America? Do you mean no better view of a midsize midwestern city in the US.
