I remember that year, I think it was '88. They lost to the Oilers in Houston, and Noll told Glanville in no uncertain terms that he was "going to get him". The Steelers beat them at home. I don't think I ever saw Noll so upset. As far as Wyche, Noll just did not like him. Called him "Wicky Wacky", lol.

I always maintain the point is not whether he caught it. The problem was that NY went far beyond the role they were supposed to in a game. They’re meant to look for incontrovertible evidence the call on the field is wrong - not “it’s doubtful from one angle so take it off the board.”

I digress... but it still pisses me off!

Nope.... it will never be beaten enough.. They cheated for years before they were caught, as they were beating everyone by 3 points! Your commish swept it away because he knew it would have changed the landscape of the NFL forever..So f*ck that organization in New England... Your damn right im still holding this grudge!

I used to think that the defense that was used to slow down the K gun Bills offense in 87..... I think was arguably the best job by a DC when Bill B was the DC of the G men but maybe even there are creditability issues.

The thing that I give Bill B credit for is the philosophy of taking the best weapon on offense away.

Vince Young relied on the TE as a pacifier and his legs so Bill B took that away and made him ineffective.

The other thing I hate giving him and Tom Brady credit for are adjustments.

The Steelers DC and OC and HC would make adjustments too late in my opinion because of pride or whatever reasons where I have watched games (Living in central CT) I see a lot of Pats games to root for the opposition......the Pats would make an adjustment on the very next series or even on a new set of downs.

I think BA (Bruce Arians was the worse for this) and several games would be played and after Ben was beat up...BA came up with bubble WR screens...etc.

If you go and try to remember the Anthony switchblade Smith game up in Foxboro....Coach Dick dialed up blitz after blitz after blitz and Brady was scorching him with quick hits to the Welker I believe.

Noll didn't grab his collar, but he did put his finger at Glanville's chin and lecture him about the crap he pulled during the game. I think that was the one that they sent a linebacker after Gary Anderson on kickoffs.

Seriously, why should Cowher whine about it now. It shows he has class over Mike Holmgren still crying over Super Bowl XL officiating. Cowher moved on to the networks and has never said anything negative toward the Patriots. Meanwhile Holmgren took a post with the Cleveland Browns thinking he was going to topple the mighty Steelers (we all know how that turned out for him)

Just watched the Cowher episode of a Football Life very interesting about how he and BB talked for 12 hours in the off season at Giants stadium about coaching before either had a head coaching job and their friendship grew from there.

I'm pretty sure hes made enough.

Maybe it's just an acknowlegment that he got bested. I'm sure they each did whatever they could to win.

He just got beaten to the punch.

(Guys we got to let it go)

I still loathe Mike Holmgren for his nonsensical rantings after XL. Every single call in that game was the correct call. The only legit gripe the Seahawks had was the low block call on Hasselback. And that call had no direct influence on the outcome of the game.
