    They give you a chance to come and for them to let you show what you can do. IIRC Duck Hodges came in on one of those. It's essentially a tryout.

    It is rare for someone to make it out of a rookie tryout camp and onto an NFL roster but it has happened. Malcolm Butler, Adam Thielin and of course Duck Hodges are only a handful that it has happened to.
