Yeah surprised they didn't sign Finney, clearly the better option, maybe they wanted to save some shekels by signing JC?

I never thought he was that great when you needed a push either. Out in space he was pretty good, but if you lined up over him and didn't let him come out of his stance clean, he was meh.

Depth signing. I hope they are not looking for him to start the season but what do I know. We will see what are new O Line coach can do.

I believe they will look to add in free agency.

Maybe Mr Paycut can snap it to himself :hmm:

Steelers more or less abandoned running on 3rd and 4th and short...The NT would push Pouncey into Ben, the RB, or both!

Same. Routinely manhandled by the better NT's, but very good pulling. Webster and Dawson were on a completely different level.

Incase you have abnisha, Pouncy has been terrible snapping the ball for a few years now. single handlely put them in a hole first play of postseason. And he was bad snapping to Rudolph/Duck.. Snapping the ball should be basic **** for a so called pro bowl center. Should be able to snap correct 100 out of 100 times. jmo

Finney? He played for the Seahawks and Bengals last year and couldn’t make it.

he is far better and bigger then JC at either guard or center. his price shouldn't be bad this year. we have seen in multiple years that we go through 3 centers or guards at some point. both will be good depth to have here. i'd be on the phone with finney's agent as soon as i heard he was released. he was a good option for us as a backup interior player which we need. we still draft a center in this one though.

Our 2nd pick should address the center position

I heard on SNR he showed up to Seattle out of shape, I doubt he would do that in a return to Pittsburgh.

we need backups at center. he was a better center then guard. he is bigger then JC as well. 6-2 295 is not a guy we need in the middle of the line in the NFL even for a game or two. maybe the 3rd option. nobody is expecting finney to be the starter, just better depth.

He played for 2 teams and didnt get a snap, how good is he? And coming into camp out of shape, I know Covid screwed everything up but that excuse is bs. JC isnt the best option but I’m sure there will be better than Finney available, too.

he was over his weight and it didn't say how much if you read the article. he couldn't get a physical because of covid and that screwed him as it says. he played STs and was beat out by pocic in seattle. we don't need him as a starter and we know what he can do. if we had the money to keep him we would have but as we know we do stupid chit like we are doing now with rolling contract down the line. this is why we can't keep guys like him and hilton and sutton and feiler and well, JC. finney won't cost anywhere near what he went to seattle for. cinci also saved 3.3 million in cutting him loose. hell, AB didn't get any playing time either in a couple of years and won a super bowl last year. bell went to the super bowl and sucked for both teams he was on when he left here and we were going to pay him 14.5 million. we do stupid chit with our money instead of smart money saving moves like this would be.

I did read the article, I posted it. You think more highly of Finney than I do.

Everyone complains about kicking the can down the road but it has allowed us to keep a lot of our own FA. Took a pandemic to screw it up for them.

Exactly. No one has ever shown up to Pittsburgh out of shape.

Why do your comments make me think you would go into a dive bar and order an apple martini?

Don't you understand that Pittsburgh is the primo destination that all NFL players want to come to?
