That is some speculating right there but that's fine. All I know is what I saw in Mason's against a desperate Stains team needing to get into the playoffs and depending on backups. He played pretty damn good for his 1st and only start of the year. Ben, well rested along with all the other vets that took a week off, sucked and went down 4 scores in a heart beat against a HC less team that ended up getting one of their assistant coaches clothes put into the HOF. Sound familiar to a previous playoff game a couple years back? I believe this is more a result of the touchy, feely , squat to pee management style of the Steelers hierarchy then a statement about MR. JMO>

This may ,or may not be news, but a lot of teams have trouble defending a Qb when they're not sure what 2 expect. Also we did not win that game. Be4 you say they played Rudolph b4 .
    1. They were prepared 4 Ben.
    2. If you watched that game(which I'm sure you did) almost nothing they (Steelers)called was like last time Rudolph played.
    3. We lost.
Not bashing Rudolph, I actually think he can get better. I also think they should try 2 resign him while nobody wants him.

Ok, So his agent says " we're willing to work the money " and Ben says " Money isn't an issue AT ALL this year "...

If money isn't an issue " AT ALL " then...Take the league minimum, Why would you not? If Ben is serious, That's the BEST way to field the BEST team..That they possibly can right?

    It's that simple, right?

Not " telling him " what to do, That's what "he said " ...Or is he just bullshitting, to not look bad in the public's eye...

If money was " no concern" take the minimum to help the team! HE said that, not ME!

Does the NFLPA have to approve all contracts? I know that in MLB the union has to.

If so, there's no way the NFLPA approves that or allows a player to give back money the team was already committed to.

I know MLB union squashed the Arod trade to the Redsox because of something with money, don’t remember the details but the NFLPA is no where near as powerful, plus, it’s not something that would be a trend they’d have to worry about repeatedly happening. It’s a unique circumstance. That said, a contract reduction wouldn’t be as drastic as a league minimum. 10 million maybe to help with the dead money next year.

If they work out the contract details for Ben to come back, I truly believe this will be the last year for Ben/Tomlin/Colbert, end of an era.

Of course having said that, Tomlin will be extended tomorrow :lolol:

Tomlin got the best gig there is...Finish .500, max out the cap EVERY year to be able to sustain .500...NEVER do a rebuild to, again attain that.500 mark...

Rooney ( your Boss ) is happy, you never really suck, you have the fans and media buffaloed that you have a chance every year... It's a lifetime free pass!

I think he’ll resign. I think when he does, college is his destination. @Steel_Elvis hit the nail on the head, he’d be a recruiting machine. He’d be a very successful college coach and you don’t get much more of a cushy gig than that.

Steelers is a nice gig too but it’s been 15 years.

Ben can’t get under center? Ben’s fault. Ben can’t run a QB sneak? Ben’s fault. Ben can’t accurately throw the ball downfield? Ben’s fault. Ben can’t throw less than four interceptions in a playoff game? Ben’s fault.

Yeah I'm sure NFLPA won't let him take a league minimum, and his agent for various reason wouldn't want that either. Less money for the agent, and not something he can brag about when recruiting other clients.

You’re delusional. A franchise QB is one you build a franchise around. Ben is not that guy.

Maybe Ben didnt get under center because the line sucked, Bens fault? maybe they never called a qb sneak , Bens fault? Ben was coming off elbow surgery, Bens fault? .. UHHHH the whole team sucked in the playoff game, Bens fault? LOL

Look I love Ben and have supported him his entire career and think of him as one of the Steelers all time greats.
For whatever reason he can’t do the basic things that a QB should be able to do. It stinks, but everything that he can still do great is nullified by the things he is unable to do.
It would be awesome if he was able to heal up and come back next season to lead us to a championship. I’m afraid we’re just going to get the same inconsistency we’ve gotten from him for the last several seasons.
