Not even sure if it's my solid top 10, but off the top of my head and in no particular order:

    Jaws
    Unforgiven
    The Godfather Trilogy
    Tombstone
    Gran Torino
    Grumpy Old Men (both really)
    The Shawshank Redemption
Braveheart (yes. Wildly and completely historically inaccurate. I don't care).
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (first one). Just a fun movie. Enjoy the sequels too, but the first was best.
Django Unchained (until the last 2-3 minutes anyway, which were goofy and wildly out of tune with the rest of the movie)

    Honorable Mentions:

    Almost any spaghetti western.
    The Patriot (see Braveheart)
    The Princess Bride

Movies that are just plain fun:

    Every John Wick
    Desperado
    Kill Bill
    Highlander
    Any Will Ferrell sports movie
    Step Brothers
    Major League(s)
    Dodgeball
    Anything from Broken Lizard
    Anything from Monty Python
    All the Rocky movies

I have to stop. I'm just now realizing I like movies maybe a little too much. :roflmao:

There's 2 types of people in the world:

People who love Big trouble in Little China

    And

    People who are wrong.

Highlander. (Loved it) As a teenager I wrecked a car I wasn't even supposed 2 be driving ,because of that movie. I was going down an old farm road screaming at my Brother. Better 2 Burn out than 2 Fade away. Lost control , & went into a Milo field . Knocked all the windows out , busted up the grill, & rearranged the front bumper. Thanks Highlander.

U guys might have, but I didn't even discover this part of the forum until recently. So....Sorry. Raiders of the Lost Ark. That movie was so good. As a kid , I stayed with a friend, and we went 2 see it at the early movie. We watched it 3 times in a row. When it would end we would just sit there till next previews. Then when everyone came in for next showing . We would get up relieve ourselves, and get more popcorn. Come back after the previews. Anyway. Great movie.

I was referring to the 1950's version filmed in my once upon a time neighboring town of Sierra Madre CA, just next door to Pasadena, my old stomping grounds. many of the buildings shown in the movie are still there. The Donald Sutherland version is the remake, which I enjoy all of them even with the overdoses of CGI (The Thing, Body Snatchers, Blob etc), but I do appreciate the artsy nature of the older B&W films with all the "Noir" shadow and lighting effects absent in more modern color films. Still like the original B&W sci-fi flicks The Fly and The Tingler.

I actually didn't see the 1950s version until 5 years ago. Enjoyed it, but 78 version I seen at the drive in, as a kid. So it's the one that sticks 2 my mind.

And featuring a pre-CSI William Petersen. Love Michael Mann films - very artsy with amazing soundtracks and cinematography. Two lesser known thrillers from that era were Flashpoint with Kris Kristofferson and Treat Williams and The Mean Season with Kurt Russell. Music scores by Tangerine Dream and Lalo Schifrin, always makes the movie IMHO.

I'm with you on a few. Was surprised to see Robert Downey's Holmes. I loved both those movies and yes the 2009 one was better then second one. I do believe that a third is in the works with Downey and Jude Law in it. I sure hope it happens, I'm dying to know how he survived that waterfall plunge with Dr. Moriarity.
