He is a free agent. I think he could be had for not a ton of money. Decent tackle.

Would be a very good depth signing if he was willing to come back. I’m not sure he is a starter any more but he could certainly fill in if needed.

It’s not realistic to fix / rebuild the line in one draft. They are going to need some cheap and reliable veterans if Al, Pouncey and Feiler are all leaving. I am still at a loss as to why Feiler was moved from RT

As we saw with Kansas City, O-Line depth is important. Beachum would be a nice backup if the price is right.

Beachum played over 1,000 snaps for AZ last year and did fine. Certainly wasn’t a liability by all accounts.

He’s also got a connection to Klemm, so it’s a distinct possibility.

Circa ‘09. How time flies!! Words cannot describe how elated I am for AK!!! Dude has been in my corner since the day we met. Excited to see him thrive. One of the most important people in my journey as a player and a man. I owe him a lot

Depends on the total number of free agents.

Steelers only have 30-35 viable players signed for 2021 and they have no cap room. They are going to need cheap guys that can play if called upon. Beachum played nearly every snap last year and did fine, he’s cheap and won’t kill you if he has to play.

Nobody is saying to build the OLine around him, but it’s a good suggestion as a roster filler while they try to rebuild the offence.

I’m not really interested in fine. You can pick up somebody in the later rounds of the draft that will give you the same production as him with potential for growth and at a fraction of the cost.

Is our cap crunch going to be "better find vet minimum" players or "better find practice squad gems" level desperation? :hmm:

Beachum played for near vet minimum last season and is a seasoned pro. Maybe he will want more money this year, but if he is anywhere in that range again it’s not that much more than a rookie salary in the grand scheme of things, and at least you know what you are getting.

They have seven draft picks iirc, and nearly 20 roster spots to fill. They are going to have to pick a few guys like this up on the waiver wire anyway. Agree he is not the future, but they are looking at a patched up roster in 2021 with all these departures

Bit if both probably. The bottom 10-15 guys on the roster are not going to be household names whatever happens.

I would take him back only as a backup, considering they won't have much money to spend in free agency.

I think everyone is at a loss as to why Feiler was moved from RT except for hard headed Tomlin.
