Could we be active in week 8 trading deadline?

I highly doubt it,but I would jump for joy if we were,(pass rusher) Who is out there to target?
and who do you see as possible Steeler trade bait? I am going to throw out

People will call me crazy ,but I would still trade Wallace for a top Safety or a top CB....Not sure we could get anyone to do it ?But if we could I think we should..

 

What good would it do it's not like they would play anytime soon? Remember this defense takes 1-3 years to learn!

 

a back up safety is a need , troy will be out for a while , mundy & allen are unwatchable , i don't know who could be on the market

 

That's funny because I dreamed last night that we were trading Mike Wallace to Seattle for multiple draft picks.

Trade Wallace to the Jets for Cromartie...We'd get a decent DB and a "WR"

 

Sign and trade Wallace to kc for Bowe who also signs before the trade.

Will we be? No.

This team just doesn't do that. I personally would LOVE to move Wallace prior to his leaving for mo' money, but it won't happen. We will take the comp. pick in the next draft. I would LOVE to be able to get 4 picks in the top 80 in order to impact our defense in the upcoming draft, but I think we all know that isn't going to happen.

I wanted Cromartie before he signed with the Jets...I was called crazy...and not the Steeler way.....Yes he has more kids than every Steeler combined....but he also has more INT's as well.

I'm a supporter of Mike, I don't think he's done anything wrong and the people that talk about him not fighting for balls and all that is a bunch of BS from people who have sour grapes over the fact that he held out.

That being said, he's gone after this season so it absolutely wouldn't be crazy.



The only thing I WOULD say is it'd likely have to be for picks. If it's another big name/big contract then it's not going to happen. Or it could be for a guy that's not a superstar plus some draft picks. If it's just draft picks it needs to be at least a 2, because we'll get a 3 as a compensation pick when Mike walks.

 

that was ok when they were good, but now that they suck, witing isnt or shouldnt be an option.

i say either DL changes his stance on letting young guys start or he needs to be shown the door. the league has finally caught up to his defense and now he needs to make adjustments and if that means he needs to sit some of the vets than do it.

Heyward and McClendon are the only two guys I would even think about putting into the lineup..and they are already part of the rotation.

I remember Rooney stating we need to get the younger players on the field sooner.Seems we have done some of that, but it really hasn't amounted to much.

I have been wanting Sean Smith since the draft..but he has now FLASHED enough that they would never move him....you needed to go get him a year ago when he was under the radar.


You can't trade Mike Wallace....we only have 4 WR's on the roster......because we don't have anyone good enough to be number 5....You get rid of Wallave and its Brown, Sanders, and Cotch the rest of the way.

Cromartie is really not that great. He gets burned a lot. He's really only had one good year in San Diego. Since then he's not been anything to write home about. I would rather have gotten Asante Samuel when we had the chance.
