Kittle would of been amazing. Imagine having a dynamic TE like that who can help the run game too...sheesh.

I think that Dobbs is just as good as Rudolph. We've had an opportunity to see what Rudolph brings to the table but Dobbs has only been used in spots, so we don't know what he really has.
I saw him in SEC play too and while not great, he is serviceable. Check his stats.

Maybe this helps Ben get his bags packed and that is the goal? This situation is like the Chicken and the Egg. Do we rebuild the OL or worry about a QB? Can we do both? May get clearer when Ben's situation is known. If Ben goes away, and stick with Mason, then need to find a backup that is worth a #### and affordable. We don't have that now except camp fodder that will go away in September or be PS. Could we afford Darnold to compete with Mason to determine who is the BU? Times are a changing for the Steelers.

Third time they did what to him? They haven't drafted a QB in the first round since Ben. They have the right to draft QBs in other rounds to flesh out the roster if for no other reason.

So the coaches have had this all wrong and you got it right because of college stats? I believe the coaches saw everyday what each player could do and that kept Dobbs with a clipboard on Sunday. Who had better stats in college, Dobbs or Mason? IMO, Dobbs could only dream of doing what Mason did in Cleveland. I like both players but thinking Dobbs is more than what the organization has determined that he is can't be based on any performance, statistical, or logical basis. JMO

Calm down kid. I responded to the poster's comment that Dobbs was a mistake and still stand by my statement that I don't know what he can do in the pros because he has not had the opportunity to play. Rudolph has and we witnessed that last season. I did not question any coaching decisions.

    Stay focused.

There are about 19,000,000 reasons why Ben would come back. Even if it means holding a clipboard

Ben has so much money right now, he probably wipes his butt with $1 bills and uses $100 as kindling in his fireplace.

Nobody's trading for a 32-year old CB with a huge cap hit.

Maybe, they team might have pushed the rumor mill back against this a bit. But I wished they sought a trade at that time. Sure, looking back is always easier, especially if one isn't a fan of Tomlin, but you gotta admit by now with the history of him since his last SB appearance that it would have been better to be without him all these years.

Not really a stats guy. I watched every game he played, & I respect your opinion, but it's not mine.

Houston gets 2021 1st , TJ Watt , WR Dionte Johnson and 2022/23 2 rd.

    Steelers get . WATSON for the next 10 years + a 4th in 2022.

We cut or trade Ben/others and eat salary stuff for a year.

2021 Draft picks go to new OL rebuild .Then get it on in 2022 when cap goes up, plus comps picks.

And win SB in 2023 or at least be in hunt.

Not starting trouble, you do realize going 2 the playoffs you're in the hunt. So we were in the hunt without doing all that last season. I believe if Ben plays ( IMO) we will be in the hunt this year.

In the eyes of the fans, Dobbs benefits from not playing. Fans can imagine his hypothetical QB prowess, because he hasn’t been given a chance to disappoint them in a real games. Mason is the prince that turned into a frog because his shortcomings were on display in 8-10 games the last couple of yrs. I suspect a bit more exposure to Dobbs would go the same way.

The Rams just traded a former#1 pick, 2 future #1 picks and a 3rd Rd pick for a QB that just turned 33 and has a bad back

I would not throw in DJ. Sending TJ, and maybe Derek, to the Texans will make JJ more inclined to stay. Hopefully that’s enough incentives for the Texans to pull the trigger
