If you have time and don't mind windy, narrow roads, Hwy 1 from Sausalito to the Oregon border has spectacular scenery!

I like it when the commercials aren't edited. I also like the minimalist nature of the broadcasts.

I hope I can do this, we haven't started planning, and it will not happen till I retire but hoping to spend some time when I get out there.I am going to retire next year so we are trying to get a bucket list together, this bucket list may last 10 years. We are not wealthy people.

I was stationed at March AFB back in 81 - 83, so I visited San Diego from time to time. Being a South Carolina Native, I had never been to a pro football game. My first game was in San Diego at Jack Murphy, Detroit vs SD.

25 HOF'ers in one game. Let that sink in.

BTW, I'm here all day for Super Bowls in January played at 4:00 in the afternoon.

That stadium is half torn down now. They didn't implode it because of environmental concerns!

An oh by the way, 1978 was the advent of the 16-game schedule. No bye weeks, no problem, the Steelers just took care of business.

Quite the contrast to the 2020 team that carped and whined and moaned for weeks about not getting a "true" bye week, even though they actually want two weeks without playing.

Come on brah....you can't compare a team that you could literally keep together forever....with a team....You lose players every year , and worry about Cap situations.

Players today don't have to put up with contact in practice, two-a-days, wedges on kickoffs, mugging of receivers, hitting of QBs, etc.

    Much softer game today.

The younger members need to go watch Cleveland's Joe "Turkey" Jones suplexing Bradshaw onto his head. Today, he could have very well been suspended for years and forced to pay a big fine. Hell, he might have been thrown out of the game for life and/or arrested if he did that to Brady. Back then, it was a 15 yard PF and move on. How about the cheap shot when Oaklands' George Atkinson clubbed Lynn Swann in the back of the head with a forearm shiver? No official saw it. No flag. It drew a letter of admonition from Pete Rozelle, but no suspension or fine. Then, Atkinson had the balls to file a $2 million defamation lawsuit against Chuck Noll after Noll characterized players of Atkinson's ilk a "criminal element". The jury sided with Noll. Noll was fined $1k by Rozelle for his comments. So yes, you would have had to be one tough m effer to have played professional football in the 70's. You most definitely still have to be that way today, but technology and a greater understanding of brain trauma helps protect the players at a much higher level. Additionally, the money these guys make allows them to retire relatively young and healthy if they choose to do so.The price that NFL athletes paid from that era when no one realized the awful side effects of Steroids in addition to the ignorance of concussions reads like a Greek tragedy.

The stadium was fine. I know some people complained about outdated sky boxes and dressing rooms but the building itself was fine, until they painted some of it. It was built to never need to be painted. Less maintenance. The field used to flood when it rained too due to crappy soil and poor drainage. Then again, it doesn't rain here often. I was only at Candlestick once, when I was a kid but heard bad things about it.

“It’s said of these Pittsburgh receivers, that they can catch a BB in the dark.”

Who thinks the team that beat the Rams in the Super Bowl stayed out all night doing coke in Miami then kicked the Rams ass with little to no sleep? That’s the rumor.
