As much as I think Dobbins will be a very good back, if Chase puts the work in he has all the tools to be a star for the next decade.

Chase had a nice rookie season, he deserves it. Congrats to him.

Superstar, perennial All Pro potential. Liked the pick then. Love it now. Hopefully the Steelers can find "the next one" soon for Chase to reach those immeasurable heights.

Claypool started off so hot this season and was almost invisible by the end of the year. What happened? Rookie wall or was he schemed out of our gameplan by our genius coaches?

The later. Tomlin or Fichtner wanted to save him from the rookie wall so he limited his involvement which in essence was the same as the rookie wall. Genius! There was an actual article on one of them saying this.

Tomlin and Fichtner were the rookie wall he hit.

I want to be fair in any assessment. There was some blurbs that MT was limiting his snaps to try to avoid that rookie wall, also with that early success opposing D's were playing him much tighter. The throws he was getting were often off the mark as well and it seemed he was trying to get a PI call as much as going for the ball...I think with maturity, good coaching, conditioning and experience all of that can be an easy fix. He seems like a good kid and good work ethic, it really comes down to learning and being placed in the right scheme.

BTW on your 3 rookie predictions, 2 seemed to beat them..nice. Not going to blame MaFarland to much, there was never really much support given to him on the field to showcase his talent. The word from the practices seemed like they really like his potential, so with a better line and scheme those numbers may well go up, but all in all a very good draft.

I sometimes think our coaches try to outsmart the opponents only to outsmart themselves lol.

That's been one of Tomlin's biggest problems from the start. Repeating his mistakes over and over is another one.
