just read a story about him leaving Texans next year. Story said Steelers might be interested because of marketing all three brothers would be good for the franchise. I can see it now. My game shirt on the back will say 3 Watts.

cool, but unless he's willing to take a bargain contract, i don't know what the point would be. DL is a position of strength, we have much more pressing needs. we also have our own free agents to worry about and are up against the cap.

Not sure he's a good fit in the 3-4. I guess if he's willing to play half the snaps . Doubt he'd be willing to take that kind of a pay cut to play with his brother.

I think we would all enjoy the Watt references that would be used weekly.

    Maximum Watt-age
    Increased Watt-age
    Watt now?
    Turn down for Watt?

    So many possibilities..

Texans will cut him, he has no guarantees left so it’s a no brainer for them. Nobody will trade for his contract. He will then be free to go wherever he wants and sign whatever deal he wants.

I think he would love it in Pittsburgh with his brothers, would be a dream come true for all of them, but it would have to be a cut price deal, I'm thinking $4m or thereabouts to make it doable for the Steelers. They would find a way to work him in. He lines up all over for Houston

It probably won’t happen but it would be cool to see.

The only way I could see them attempting to bring Watt in is at a reduced role for depth. If the price is right why not?

They'd have to trade Tuitt. You may be able to get a 3rd for him.

And obviously Watt would have except a friendly contract extention. His cap hit is $17.5 million.

Take your 3rd and draft another DL to groom. Do it if you want, we aren't winning anything the next couple years anyway. At least we'd get something for Tuitt to help the rebuild.

No way marketing influences this decision. Sell more tickets? Please.

This isn't that kind of franchise, maybe Jerry Jones would sign him to get more camera time.

seriously, what could be the value of “marketing”? They sell a few stupid t-shirts with the 3 Watt brothers and some dumb slogan on it? Yup, that’d be worth the extra cap hit.

If he is trying to win a championship, going to Kansas City or Buffalo would be a better place than Pittsburgh.

Is that the article that said he would play for as little as 4 million? I wonder if he actually talked to any of the Watts, or like many of those stories just wrote 'Watt' ever came into his head.

Actually if they cut him he becomes a FA and his old contract is void. There is no cap hit for the Texans if they cut him, and I doubt where ever he might choose to sign is going to give him that kind of money.

I think he would hate playing here, because 3-4 Dlinemen are just setting up plays for LBs. JJ loves attention I don’t think he could handle not being a grunt.

I am wondering if we're keeping Derek around and if so, why?

Maybe they could get Ronde and Tiki Barber to come back, too

I remember reading somewhere that in the old days of traveling barnstorming baseball teams there was a team that consisted entirely of identical twins. Something to consider.

It doesn't make financial or tactical sense, as much as I like the guy.

Heyward is getting old. Still playing well but his play could drop off the cliff at any time. So let's get another aged lineman to replace or spell him? No offense but that doesn't make much sense.

Would love to have him, love his attitude, his speech about not quitting and playing for the fans, how can you not like the guy but there is just no way they can afford him with all the other pressing needs they have.

Would have to be an amazing discount.
