I would rather keep Sutton, he's more versatile, and he might come cheaper than Hilton.

I would rather keep both. I think Haden may be the odd man out.

Haden may be, but I do not think we can keep Hilton and Sutton . They may make an offer, but their best option is to wade into FA waters and see what offers are out there. This may be the only time for them to really score on a 'big' contract and depending on the market they both likely could get more than the Steelers can offer.

I doubt they can afford to keep both of them.

I would keep Hilton personally if you could only choose one, but it’s close.

There are several variables, who retires, what will the final cap number be, what does each player want in terms of APY etc. I would not be hugely surprised if the league works something out in relation to the cap and they keep both players while the more expensive guys like Bud and Juju walk away.

If the cap ends up at the worst case $175m the Steelers are in trouble. Hopefully it’ll be significantly higher, they may even hold it at the current $198m

Haden is still easily our best corner. I think they extend him and get some cap relief.

This is the real question going forward.
They’re going to go with Sutton and because of the price let Hilton walk.

Hilton is represented by Drew Rosenhaus, he will want his $$$$ for sure.

There may be a market for Sutton too if teams see him as a #2 outside corner. Is Nelson significantly better? I don’t think he actually is

I would want to keep both to the point where if its down to those two or Haden, I’ll easily take those two. But it’s more complicated than that. Haden being cut/traded will save $7mil, which should be enough for one of their annuals.

Sutton. Better in coverage, weaker in blitz...year younger, a little bigger.

You can give Haden an extension and accomplish the same savings if not more for next season.

Hilton. He's the better slot corner. I'd like to keep both but..... My pick to cut is still nelson. Sign these two with the 8.25 mil.with a longer contract. Nelson is only signed for next year. Rework haden to free up some more.

Both. But in my off season we're shedding veterans all over.

Both of them have weaknesses in coverage when pressure is not applied to the quarterback. Hilton is a better nickel versus the run. Sutton better against the pass. If the Steelers can fix the offense, it would take pressure off the defense. I rate Sutton slightly higher than Hilton. Hilton, who has a nose for the football, is a step slow against agile tight ends and quick receivers in coverage.

Sutton can play outside in a pinch. I would take Sutton.

not true at all about sutton better against the pass. Hilton is clearly better of the two by the numbers. Maybe perception wise but the numbers are way in the favor of hilton.

Over the last two years, Hilton has given up four touchdowns in coverage, while Sutton has given up one.

Kicking the can down the road on a 32 year old CB, no thanks, either release him or let him play out his final season.

Sutton can play outside, and the slot, I would keep him.

He’s easily the best CB on the team. Kicking the can down the road will be less painful when the cap goes up

Then let him play out the season, no need to extend him, they can find cap space elsewhere by releasing players and restructures.

I'd keep Sutton. Can play inside and out.

Hilton makes more splash plays but he's always blitzing and near the LOS.
