To all of you nervous Nellies out there, this changes everything. You guys were ready to bag the season. Some of you would be happy with as few wins as possible to get a higher draft pick.

As said before, as bad as this start is its not something that the Steelers can't overcome. The NFL season is long and full of twists and turns and injuries (and not just to the Steelers) that can wreck a team and change many teams fortunes all on one Sunday.

The Steelers destiny is in their hands. Taking 3 or 4 from the Bengals and Ravens puts them in a good position to win the division. And it just got a whole lot easier.

Call me Mr Negative...But even if the Steelers manage to win the division, I don't like their chances against NE/DEN or HOU in the AFC playoffs.
And I'm fairly certain it'll be either SF or NYG for the NFC ... and those teams will murder Ben (lol @ the OLine) while shredding the defense who can't stop a nosebleed, let alone a halfway competent rushing OR passing offense.

    e:  666th post :D

Right- the Steelers need to get their act together on both sides of the ball before any talk of playoffs begin.

However- as I noted on another thread, the AFC is a sea of mediocrity this year. Even Houston has shown weaknesses.

This news is devastating to the Ravens, I still doubt they get anything much from Suggs this year. Of course their defense has been terrible already this year with Lewis and Webb. How many yards is Arian Foster going to rack up against them this week? 300, at this rate.

The Ravens 5-1 has been incredibly fraudulent as it is. They could very easily be 3-3 if 2 field goal attempts had bent a few yards in the other direction, and did their damndest to lose games against KC and the Browns. They have only 4 more home games this year.

9-7 could take the AFC North this season.

Pete Priso had an interesting take on Lewis' injury.

"Let me start this out by saying I think Ray Lewis is the best middle linebacker ever. But let me also say this, something nobody else will say: The Ravens might be better off without Lewis. Yes, I said it. Lewis has been horrible for most of this season. He gets engulfed by lineman and doesn't get off blocks. You never like to see a veteran like him go down, especially this late in his career, but a younger, faster player might be what the Ravens need now inside."

Ray Lewis missed some games last year and the ravens won every game without him. Ray has been getting by on reputation for a few years. Webb might be the bigger loss of the two but it looks like Suggs will be back soon so it may even out for the ravens. I'm still thinking we have a chance but there will need to be a very dramatic change in the way we have played and surely we could use some good luck for a change. But as long as Boldin, Smith, and Rice are out there I'm going to be nervous.

They will get by, but they gave up over 200 in the ground game alone. The big cog is Ngata, hey lose him then the defense is toast. That guy is a beast, watched him just throwing guys in one of the games I saw this year.

The ravens lost to tenn and jax last year and were one play from the super bowl. In fact i think most of the ravens losses last year were to badteams

The Ravens defense really hasn't been has much lights out as they used to be. They are more of an offensive team now, an injury to Flacco, Ray Rice, or Torrey Smith would be a greater blow to them. But, I think they are beatable, they much like us are a much better home team than road team.

Exactly. They are my fantasy D and they have been mediocre at best. The Ravens O is what is going to be our downfall this year....

The Ravens are hungry. They are going to fight, scrape and claw for everything they can. They're tired of being outdone by the Steelers, and they're out for blood. While they definitely have weaknesses, and are ripe for the picking, they have the personnel, ability and fire to get it done.

Steelers would do well to find their intensity, so they can take them out. My gut feeling is that the Steelers will need a division sweep for more than just the numbers. This Steelers team needs to make a statement.

the Steelers put themselves in a huge hole to try and win the division, but lucky for them the rest of the AFC is down.

Dallas ran through Ngata for 227 yards sunday, the week before KC bum rushed him for over 200 yards I guess he's only a beast on occasion.....
