It's old news but yes I'm aware. I live in Madison , a badger fan, and followed the Watt's their entire career. The knee's will probably end his career earlier than expected. Watt's game is speed. Once he loses that ability to use his athletic skills to beat the OT's he won't be all that impressive. He doesn't have the physical power like Harrison did to play well at an old age. I don't think he's a guy that will age well. That's kind of typical of players built on burst and speed. Add in the knee issues and it isn't good long term IMO. Hopefully Im' wrong. He never had the training that he gets now.

He reminds me of Kevin Greene. He played at a high level for a decade plus...but then again I'm pretty sure the great Kevin Greene had some pharma help to do that. Not trying to be disrespectful to KG because I loved that guy...but lets be honest.

It was talked about ad nausem post draft. His injuries were from playing TE and getting his knees hit. Since he switched positions at Wisconsin it hasn't been an issue. Since his first 3 years in Pittsburgh have been pretty special this is worrying for worrys sake.

bad knees are usually a thing that presents it self with age. He's still young and has a good weight. I'm sure he's on a very good program to protect his knees and keep them strong. He doesn't take shots to the knees like he did at TE so that probably helps also. Otherwise I'd like to see him play both sides of the ball. Haven't seen that in a while ...would be cool to see Watt catching TD's from Ben! ( I'm kidding of course)

His knee injures were due to backing up and having to stick blocks as a TE. His tendons in his knee would tear away from his knee cap.

He almost gave up on football until Paul Chryst decided to try to move him to OLB

    Good move on all parts.

I wouldn't stop a minute if I'm Rooney or Colbert to sign this guy to a 5 year contract extension.

He's been durable his 1st 4 years here.

Knee injuries can happen you hope to avoid them. Look one took out Devin Bush in just his 2nd year, or you can be Bud Dupree in year 5.

You need to keep TJ Watt longer term period.

Watt has the best hands of any edge rusher in the game. His technique is amazing. Dupree is all about speed.

Just goes to show how much draft prospects are over analyzed..... I'm sure more than a few teams shied away from him due to this info..
Wonder how they all feel now

I'll go out on a limb here and say Kevin Greene would be on a very long list of guys who had pharma help.

Knee injuries suck for sure but I think the human body needs to evolve to a point where we get rid of the ACL but of course keep the knee:) In all walks of life I know people who have suffered an ACL. I cringe when I see a Steeler go down holding their leg.
