Raiders and Dolphins watch the playoffs from home this season and last.

Maybe those extra 1st rounders will pay off in the future.
Or maybe they will be like the Browns, and have to rebuild again in the near future because the talent leaves or is traded away.

Truer words were never spoken, Batman. Unless you have a disgruntled player who has to go (See AB early 2019), you’re almost always worse off for trading a star for prospects. A bird in the hand.......

Look at how trading talent for prospects has advanced the Pirates these past 3 decades.

Damn now some of you want to talk Pirates !

    I love it.

I can do that . Bigger Bucs fan than Steelers. I know all the players down in Minors too.

Bell sucked , had like 3 real good months in 4 seasons. Needs to be a DH.

Bell came up through the system as a guy with high avg. /obp and solid doubles hitter.

Then he decided to become a power hitter and it all changed. Power up/ SO UP , avg /opb down

He should be a 290/300 with 40 2B and 17-22 hr. and obp of 360.

Now he doesnt know what to do.

Absolutely should NOT get rid of TJ. He's one of the best things the Steelers have going for them right now, and they need to hang onto him.

How long should he be signed? He'll be 27 early next season.

He'll probably want 5 years. I wouldn't go any longer than that.

I think I know what you mean, but THEY (the team getting the player) needs to sign him as the signing team has to account for the signing bonus, thats what makes signing guys like Wentz so hard. Philly will still be on the hook for so much money.

I’d imagine they will add four years on to his current deal, probably $110m range or slightly more. He can play out his fifth year option once he has the deal signed, kick the cap pain down the road until the Covid issue has worked its way out of the system and the cap recovers. Ben will likely be off the books by then as well.

I get the premise. It's fun to think outside the box. Still letting TJ go is a hard no for me. I say keep him here at all costs.

It`s fun to think out of box . I mean there is a thread about Jerseys on this forum. Who the **** wear`s another mans jersey. That is just sad.

At the least I got you all thinking. We have a long road ahead in the next few years.

We win vs. Browns . But then we are done.

The Steelers never do it and I am sure I couldn't do it either, but a team that was very successful for 20 yrs in the AFC EAST did it.
Offer to pay him what you think he is worth to the team. If they think he is worth 18 mil fine but if he wants 26 mil he walks.
That's the kind of hard decisions the Steelers are not really good at
It is just the way it is they will pay him huge and bet on him being able to earn his huge contract for 3 or 4 yrs out of the five even if he stays healthy he will most likely be overpaid by the last year. As good as he is now and I think he is the DPOY it's hard to imagine he can perform at 32 like he is at 27. If the Steelers are real lucky they pay him and he plays well for all 5 yrs, but then how much or how long knowing the decline will come fast.

Here's what you have to do. Remember this post and should something bad happen to TJ next season or he under performs big time you can bring this up and say I told you so.
