Hilton is the most important one to bring back. That's why I think Nelson may be the odd man out. 8.250, could bring hilton and sutton back if they structure it right. Layne, sutton, haden, hilton, pierre and a draft pick might be a better way to go since Nelson would be in his final year and frankly isn't that good. Not 8+ million good anyway.

But we do get to keep him next year for the 7-8 he is under contract for? The other 7-8 goes against the books either way? It would be 2022 when it would be a bigger discussion.

He’s not making 15. That’s his cap hit due to restructures. They can easily give him an extension that’s back loaded to get his cap hit down for the next couple years then cut him and eat the dead money when the salary cap straightens back out after Covid.

No problem. I think a lot of fans get caught up in the “cap hit” and say the player is not worth it. Heck even if we cut Haden he’ll count for 8.5 million in dead money next year. We’ll save 7 million. Would we be happy to have Haden for 7 million next year? I would. We aren’t getting anyone as good as him for much less so unless it’s through the draft might as well keep Haden around.

I doubt the Steelers are going to pay a slot CB big money, Hilton is the odd man out.

Here’s what I see happening (not necessarily what I want) Haden and Nelson get extensions 2-3 years. Hilton is signed. Sutton is offered a contract that he probably doesn’t like and signs elsewhere. We go with Layne and a draft pick for depth.

I don't see them extending Haden, they just did that a few years ago, I think he's 32 years old. Nelson is likely to get a extension to help with the cap, FWIW on a podcast they were saying Hilton could get around 7 million a year, I don't see the Steelers paying that much for a slot CB.

Does anyone know if Haden is in or out for Sunday night?

Does the late Sunday night start give him an extra 24 hr day depending on what time of day he tested positive?

Did Ebron or Marsh test positive? If not, they would both be eligible to play in the playoff game.
