We really haven't had a bad run since the '80's.
So, if you dd not live through the 80's ( meaning at least over 35 years old), stop your front-running fan twitter whining!

OK, maybe a bit of whining, but keep it real, NO fire Tomlin, fire Lebeau, re-build entire team etc., etc..
We have the same record as GB and a better record than the Saints, who would have taken that, pre-season?

    p.s. Why doesn't Heath have 12 catches a game?

Oh great... when Rahtard open his mouth, dumb crap comes out. Now we have Rahtard freaking Mendenhall telling fans that they aren't real fans!?!? Way to go dumbass. Piss off the people who buy tickets and merchandise that pays your salary. And anyways, the Steelers sucked Thursday night. That is a fact and if you don't like hearing that, then do something on the field to prove you don't suck. Otherwise shut your piehole Rahtard. Stick to running the ball, you won't be invited to join mensa any time soon...

Mendenhall calls out steelers fans on his twitter

I found this on another steeler forum. Here's what Mendy wants to say to you guys:
Seriously, if you’re gonna talk trash about your team and everyone on it, don’t call yourself a fan. A fan is a supporter… — Rashard Mendenhall (@R_Mendenhall) October 12, 2012. Now I was never a fumblehall fan but this takes the cake. I'll save my opinion for later but I also want to comment that too many of our players are too busy "tweeting" not enough "working"

Everytime he has a great game and I want to really like him as a Steeler he says something stupid on twitter and it just turns everyone off.

I like the term that someone on this board dubbed him tweets: Socrates.

    Socrates strikes again I guess?

I didn't think there was anything wrong with what he said.

People can be pretty ridiculous after a loss, and I imagine he probably had hundreds of people trolling him on Twitter and Facebook. At least he kept it classy.

His head is not in the right place if he lets it get to him. If it affects his focus regarding his work then don't log on. It was poor" customer service" telling us how we should feel. If you cant handle the customers then you should find another job. But he has the option of not logging on!

Sometimes things are better left unsaid. But Steeler fans are notorious for going to extremes after losses. Just look at this place.

When we play Cincinnatti next Sunday will everyone who has commented in this thread be watching and cheering for the Steelers? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that actually MOST of the people on this board have been Steeler fans longer than Mendy has. We will be watching this team next Sunday and we'll be giving our assessments of what we like and don't like. We will get that fuzzy feeling when they do something good. We will get that sickening and angering feeling when they do something bad. The reason we are so let down by them is because we love them so much and expect so much out of them. THAT is what's called being a fan. So what if we get a little hot under the collar sometimes. It's ironic that the same guy who called out the whole country of America would get mad when a relatively small number of his countrymen call him out. I was at the game Thursday and a guy actually made it a point to tell me that we have "great fans". Too bad Mendy doesn't feel the same considering that I'm just a middle class guy like most of the rest of the people who are spending their money to come out and cheer them on. But guess what if I had enough money I'd be right there in Cincy next Sunday waving my towel and calling Ike Taylor an idiot. Mendy will not deter me nor should he anyone else.

Big deal, alot of fans are aholes. He's getting ripped for not having thicker skin but look at how the fans are reacting to what he said? Maybe they need thicker skin too. Don't dish it out if you can't take some criticism yourself.

Yeah I agree. I really don't care what Mendy says. I think we know that we're gonna be fans after him. What I would like to know though is exactly what criticism it was that sent him to twitter to gripe. I also would like to know if he thinks Ike is playing well. If he thinks Keenan is doing an acceptable job. If he thinks Coach Tomlin is good at managing the clock and getting the best out of his personnel and making good decisions in the crunch. If Lebeau is utilizing Harrison to his true potential. THAT is what seems to be the main criticism this week on this board. Are those not legit gripes in the mind of Mendy? I'm honestly just personally curious.

I'd wager the things he was reading on his twitter account is far worse then anything that's said around here. Some fans think they have the right to act sub human towards athletes.

Mendenhall needs to look at other fanbases. They're all rabid.

But some of us Steeler fans aren't just about Ws and Ls. If the Steelers play well and lose, so be it. I can accept that and be content with it. There are countless losses where I have felt good about the way the team played and just knew they simply got beat. There are other games the Steelers have won and I did NOT feel good about the way the team played (there were a number of those last year).

And then there are games like Thursday night where the team plays lousy and allows a lesser opponent to beat them, and it's this type of game that we are seeing too often under Tomlin.

I support the Steelers. I do not support undisciplined, dumb football...and this is not always on the players. I do NOT blame Shaun Suisham for missing a field goal. I blame Mike Tomlin for putting him in that situation.

That's funny because I have a friend who came over to watch Monday Night Football a few weeks ago and I was talking about some of the debates that we had all been having on here and he said "I just can't get on those boards because there is always some troll that just makes me mad with their stupidity." I said "Well we are all usually pretty level headed and that really doesn't happen too much with us." Then he said he had actually heard a term about people who think they are so tough on message boards and social media. He said the term was "twitta soldja". LOL. I bet it was a "twitta soldja" that got under Mendy's skin. Maybe there are a few of those here but I can't really think of any right off the bat. Mendy should come here instead of twitter. He would more than likely learn something about our history actually.

I just wish he would tuck the ball a little more when he runs.
I get nervous the way he swings it out there while running.

I feel the same way. Even IF we had won that game Thursday I STILL would be saying we won IN SPITE of Tomlin, Taylor, Lewis, and Mundy. A lot of times I feel just as bad after a win as I do after a loss because I look at the problems that we have and think if we don't get it fixed we are gonna face a team that can exploit it and really hurt us and expose us bad.

I get what you're saying but you need to try and live in the moment more, just so you can enjoy the win, doesn't sound like you get to do that.

Yeah it's basically like this for me "WOO HOO!!! WE WON!!! WE ARE SO GREAT!!!" then in like 3 minutes after the euphoric rush calms its trek through my body then I am like "Ike you stupid moron we ALMOST lost because of you and dang it Tomlin if you don't start managing the clock better you're gonna get on my crap list and Ben you had Heath wide open in the end zone and you missed him and Lebeau you need to seriously dial up the pressure because we are looking like a bunch of powder puffs out there and I'm ashamed to call this a defense!!!" or something like that. I'm just a natural pessimist in all aspects of my life though so it makes sense I would be that way.
