The guy needs to learn how to wrap up a ball carrier.

Great ball skills, terrible tackling technique. Tries to make too many tackle up around the pads. His angles to the ball carrier are poor, too.

His skills are unbelievable but lowering the shoulder to tackle is just dumb. Too many times he gives up the first down yardage by not wrapping up the ball carrier.

He did hurt his shoulder earlier in the year and they've been using him down in the box for run stops and he tackles well when he run-fits.

His problem is open space against RB's.

And with the targeting rule, it's hard on a defender.

Easy, let the D line or LBers make the tackles.

Polamalu would fly up out of control and miss on occasion, but that's not what Fitzpatrick is doing. He is in position, but his technique is just awful and he's not strong enough to overcome it.

Most players have their strengths and weaknesses. Open field tackling is not his strength, but he does other things really well. You gotta take the good with the bad for almost every player out there.

Minkah's pros outweigh his cons, at about 10:1.

Flying out of control was part of the problem. Everybody would get do excited because he acted like a "wild man" they'd forget that his recklessness caused a missed tackle.

Don’t forget @Formerscribe blowing up a bunch of threads saying we can’t beat Ravens or Browns in the playoffs without Haden.
