Mason has balled out and shown his worth. Whether he is the future remains to be seen, but I am fine if he is on the roster when Ben retires.

I'm guessing he is our QB when Ben goes. I sure have a bit more hope now.

I wouldn't call him the future or the franchise QB.......but, it sure makes it easier not to reach for one in the draft it out of need.

Rudolph did what he needed to do. Just one ugly pick detracted from a very good outing.

Mason looked really great today. Other than the bad pick he threw, which shouldn’t of counted as the refs missed a blatant blow to Masons head. That missed call bailed the Browns out today. Browns shouldn’t feel good about this win.

Amazing he didnt have to throw every pass in 2.3 seconds, I guess all that BS was to cover for Bens lack of arm strength.

The kid made real strides today. I feel comfortable going forward with him after todays performance.

Busting up the mojo after he completes a nice pass bringing in Dobbs was just mindless.

He wasn't brought in to be the franchise but possibly an heir apparent when Ben hangs em up. Lets see how it pans out. At this point a QB high in the draft can be put to bed.

He played very well, love the whole team’s effort and we are going in healthy with good mojo. Like very much where we are.

Mason looked like the real deal but if he has to continue under Randy Fukner he will fail he will need a real OC to be successful

I feel better about Mason as our Back up, but still not as our qb of the future

Hats off to Mason today. I'm not ready to call him the QB of the future. But he played well enough to win today.

This thread is funny. One of the few times a loss will produce such positive replies.

I have genuine hope for Mason. We all know he needs some more work but, some QB's take time to develop. Hell, Bradshaw's status was in question until they won their first SB.

    Mason's stats today
    C/Att - 22-39

    Avg - 14.3
    TD - 2

    FAN - 19.7
    RATE - 89.2

    Solid numbers, I should say.

He escaped the pocket couple of times and threw away when the play had blown up. His long ball is better than Ben’s. If he can be preconcussion qb of last year, I would be ok with him going forward and building the line and RB. There is no one out there available to Steelers that would do better than him.

I do think that if he Ben is injured, they should not hesitate in bringing in Mason. I'm not saying he needs to be brought in immediately, but if ben hurt risks a win then bring him in.

    Mason has no short/intermediate game.

Hope to God the Steelers do not try to ride him as their future starter.

Can’t go bombs away all game every game which is what he is good at but you need to be able to throw those 10-15-20 yard passes and he’s average at best at that.

They got back in this game in the second half when they went deep a lot.
