More to the point, say in the last twenty years, how many times have we lost games to second and third string QB's and/or QB's who never started a game before they played us. We went into these games thinking we should win by twenty but stink and end up losing. How many W's did we leave on the field? This doesn't speak well for Tomlin. One or two dozen?

Tomlin's Steelers are only 8-5 as double-digit road favorites, which is quite sad. After the losses and even narrow escapes, the theme is familiar. "We can't let teams like that hang around", "I can't believe we lost to that team", etc.

Tuitt gave us a peek inside the locker room a few weeks ago when he told his teammates to "pad their stats" against the Ravens' depleted squad. Tomlin called the Ravens a "JV squad" after the game. That was a home game as a heavy favorite, but the rule still applies - they don't take these teams seriously. Tomlin himself has said recently that they're rather be in the games that everyone is watching (natty TV) than the ones no one is watching.

When you're primary job as a head coach is to be a motivator, you can't have failures like this so often. Cowher had his share of these bad losses, too, and the script is always the same. They come out flat and safe against an inspired opponent, fall behind, start pressing, bad things start to snowball. When you hear all week that "you can't lose unless you turn the ball over", how else would you play?

Next head coach needs to be a brilliant football mind, not just a cheerleader. Noll had the right approach to motivation -- prepare your players to succeed, and they'll be happy and confident.

Yes, your right no doubt. Its unbelievable how many sub-par QB's all of a sudden play like Dan Marino against us.

I should of been more clear. Losing to teams with scrub QB's that we were heavily favored in.

Before this losing streak, Steelers were 24-5 against sub .500 teams since week 10 2016.

This would suggest the last three games weren’t particularly following any kind of trend.

And at least 1, maybe 2, of these past 3 opponents will be in the playoffs.

We do lose to teams we all think we should beat but can't remember many we were sure we'd lose but won??????????

Off topic: Detroit Lions are a sad sad team over and over. Tom Brady is loving him some Motor City today. I hate him but he is on fire today.

Could you imagine if we had to play Detroit? A defensive struggle no doubt.

All I thought about while watching that game was we would struggle against them. I remember a post before we played the Bengals. We get a big lead and rest Ben. That is what TB got to do yesterday with Tommy boy.
