So I understand injuries are a part of the game, but this is a little insane. What are the strength and conditioning coaches doing? I could understand injuries more in November and December but not now. Maybe these coaches need to go with the rest of them.

While tonight's injuries did pile up. Crap happens. And it happens to every team...theres no way around it...you cans blame a strength and conditioning/etc coach that a player fell on Pouncey or that Gilbert seemed to plant his foot and somehow tweak something or Redman gets hit in the side of the knee/leg. While I'm not saying our S&C people are the best and they do nothing wrong. I just find it funny how some blame this when crap like this happens.

Every team has like 8 starting players go out in the same game? Are you serious? This chronic injury thing has been happening for a couple years. It's a result of poor strength and conditioning, not dumb luck.

I would think the Steelers really need to look at this hard.
As the poster above me said, this is not DUMB LUCK.
We are not getting our guys ready for battle, for all you young people
out there in cyber space the Steelers USE to be the INTIMIDATORS, the people
that DELIVERED the licks and got up from them and continued to play ball.
It may be a societal thing ?

I have no clue about the Steelers Strength and Conditioning, and I suspect almost none of the posters here do either.

Is the Strength and Conditioning different somehow in 2012, than it was last year when they went 12-4? I have no idea, but I'll bet their approach isn't any different this year.

But I will say this. Lots of fans have got irritated when various commentators have said this team is "Old and Slow". Well, I'm 50, and you can strength and condition me all you want, but my speed, stamina and strength won't be what it once was.

I think "Old and Slow" can look a lot like a lack of Strength and Conditioning. And it's not nearly as easy to remedy.

These injuries are happening to our OL with people rolling up on the back side of them that is hard to S&C. I think its because they suck so bad the defender is beating his lineman by the time our lineman recovers he is pushing and HOLDING the DL/LB right into the back of one of our own guys. Their tech is so bad that’s why it seems to be happening every play like it is. We are lucky Ben is not in a body cast.
