Rumors of Cowher is considering coaching the Jets, if he is seriously considering coaching why not make another run at him.. Yes he had. Couple of losing seasons but he is 5 times the coach Tomlin is. And he woudnt put up with the Standerd mentality that's taken over this team. Juju sure woudnt be prancing around before games.

Cowher had one super bowl win and one loss. Tomlin has one superbowl win and one loss. What's the difference? I would not consider Cowher and upgrade at all. I know you probably like that hard nosed image he has as do I but that probably won't fly in today's NFL. How many years did Cowher have to find a QB? I just don't see him as much of an upgrade. Not trying to argue with you but I just don't see it

Cowher will not go to the Jets. He is too smart to coach for an inept owner because he knows that he would be hampered by his boss.

    It's a lose-lose situation.

I don't know how much influence Cowher had on the draft when he was here but I am 100% certain that if he had the talent Tomlin has had, for the 14 years he's been here, we would probably be looking for ring #10 or #11.

Cowher was always competitive with numerous Qbs Tomlin can't seem to be competitive with a hof qb. Don't know if Cowhers style of coaching would wrk with these woke pansyass kids playing today. But imo that's the type of coach we need

Cowher is not coming back to coach in todays NFL. He would be too handcuffed no matter what team he would be working for. Currently he has a completely stress free high paying job and I don't see him giving that up to deal with a bunch of spoiled children.

and you're basing that on almost nothing. Look I'm not trying to argue with you at all and you could be right. But when Cowher had the chance to influence what kind of talent he had around him he did not get a QB until Ben came along. All I'm saying is that Cowher didn't have as good a record as Tomlin and yet we yearn for that coach. I'm not convinced is all. We need new coordinators no doubt

How do we know what influence Cowher had on choosing a QB?

One thing that is absolute fact is that the talent level under Tomlin has been far superior to that which was under Cowher.

i loved Cowher, but it's been an awfully long time since he's coached.. the game has changed a lot since then, both on and off the field. it's not like he's been completely away from football for all these years, but it's still been a while since he's been deeply involved in the operational side of football. i'm not convinced he'd actually come back to coach in the NFL anyways. i'm not a big tomlin fan, but there's not a whole lot he can do when his QB is banged up and hit an age wall in the middle of the season. my issues with tomlin are more about situational football, ability to adjust, challenges, etc.. let's face it, we've had some unfortunate injuries derail our seasons the past how many years now?

You honestly think Rooney's would pay him what he would demand? Not happening.

not going to argue with you. But he had his time and he didn't do much more than Tomlin. I suppose we can say he had no input on talent as the head coach which I find interesting. But I guess we'll just disagree

I don't consider it arguing, we just have a different take on it.:drinks: You can say Cowher had his time and you are correct, I can say Tomlin has had the talent and I am correct.

If I were building a philosophical approach to a team, I would prefer a good coach with time and talent over a good coach with time:cool:

Cowher would be crazy to coach in the NFL. He has a great, low stress job with CBS. There's a reason why Jimmy Johnson and Bill Cowher don't coach anymore. It's a 24/7... 365 days a year job.

Big difference actually. Cowher had that team ready to go most years even when they didn't have all the pieces. When they won the super bowl, that was the window opening for more to come with a HOF QB beginning to blossom. Tomlin won a superbowl with Cowher's players and the blueprints. And while this team has it's ups and downs, it's been regressive overall.

Bill isn’t giving up his cushy job for the sidelines again.

Also, you do know that Cowher was considered a players coach, right?

And as for not allowing JuJu’s antics, I point you to the Super Bowl Shuffle video before losing to SD in the playoffs.

Joe Gibbs, Marc Levy and John Gruden. Three coaches who were thought to be saviors for their old teams. All three had very limited successes. Cowher is not dumb. He’s not going to taint his legacy by coming back

He must shake his head all day long at today's NFL. I do think he would be better then Tomlin at controlling the players.
