Odd that Tomlin has never been in the running for COTY?

Tomlin is universally regarded as a top 3 coach in the NFL. He's won a Superbowl, has coached for 14 years, has a 0.651 winning percentage. And perhaps most impressively, he's never had a losing season!

Yet oddly enough, he's never been mentioned as a contender for Coach of the Year. Why is that?

One can't help but wonder if there are factors beyond his performance that keep him from entering the COTY debate even once in his almost 15 years coaching....

 

Tomlin SUCKS and I'm so sick of the "Yeah, but he's never had a losing season" argument. The guy is nothing but a clueless popcorn munching cheerleader.

 

Lots of regular season wins and few postseason wins don't equal COTY.

 

Just throwing this out there maybe he should be this year. This team is horrible it’s a miracle we won 11. It’s currently a 2 win team . Maybe Tomlin did great to win 11. Just sayin. We can all throw stones currently I’ve got no clue who to throw them at. Wish the Steelers did

If the team had started 0-6 and finished with 10 straight wins maybe the story would be different, I agree

You obviously have a real short memory. Last year he was mentioned more then once and I think if the Steelers would have won a couple more games he would have been top 3.

Thats that problem. Wheels fall off every year. In this whacky year, 11-0 seemed improbable. Now the possibility of ending the regular season with 5 straight losses seems likely. What the hell....
