This needs to be more than close victory. This needs to be the week the Steelers get right. They not only finally got a full week between games, they got one more. They are facing an opponent that is a disaster. If they are going to right the ship at all this season, this is the perfect opportunity.

Correct. The Steelers need to come out angry, hungry and focused. They need to play like they have something to prove; something beyond just clinching a divisional title. Anything less than a dominate win will only raise more questions and doubt as to where this team is as a legitimate threat in this seasons' playoffs.

If the Steelers beat the Bengals, that clinches the AFC North and at least the No. 3 seed. The only tangible thing at stake in those final two games would be the No. 2 seed, so basically the ability to play at home in the divisional round. It would also affect who they play in the first round, but the No. 2 seed could end up with a tougher opponent than the No. 3. The Ravens are better than any of the wild card contenders, and they could very easily end up in that No. 7 spot. I'm not exactly confident in the Steelers winning round three against the Ravens given how both teams are playing right now.

We certainly don’t want any part of Baltimore in our first playoff game. The last game of the year we should throw it if it means avoiding them.

It doesn't clinch the #3 seed. If the Colts win the division at 12-4 (which would include beating us), we would drop to the 4th seed. Tennessee still has to play at Green Bay, so the Colts have a good chance if they get by us (I believe they end with Jacksonville).

Our winning record against lesser teams is not good. Take the next 3 loses and move on to a one and done playoff game

The Bengals are an NFL team. The only thing that matters is how well the Bengals and Steelers play.

They lost to one team this season that has a losing record, that was Washington.

Damn. My mistake. I was just looking at the Bills and Titans.

Of course, the #4 seed sends them to Kansas City if they make the second round. I would still be tempted to sit Roethlisberger and some other key veterans Week 17. They aren't going anywhere if they can't get a little bit healthier, anyway.

That is a good idea regardless of the opponent.
