Being mauled and held game after game and still crushes. DPOY in my book.

He’s also leading the league in sacks for December. He has 2 and as of this post, most have none. Total domination!

It would be great if Watt gets DPOY... but I fear Aaron Donald will be picked over Watt.

    My dream scenario.

    super bowl win this year
    Ben SB mvp
    Watt DPOY
    Steelers triple crown
    Sack streak games broken
Don’t care who we beat or how it happens.

He deserved it last year. He's even better this year.

Correct me if I'm wrong (not uncommon ;)), but the last 2 times we had a DPOY, we won the SB that year, right? :D (James Harrison and Troy Polamalu)

Ah. Here my old man memory had me thinking 2005 and 2008. DOH!

IDK why I even thought that when I knew James won for the Cardinals SB (2008) and Troy won after.

    IOWs, I'm an idiot. :lolol:

he batts down a lot of passes, but the FFs will come too, he's always punching at the ball

definitely having a DPOY type season

In my disgruntled veteran mind, I read "FFs" to mean something else.

With Bud gone it will be interesting to see if Watt can keep up his pace, just assuming teams will shift even more protection his way.

As far a DPOY it should be between Watt and Donald . As much as I think Watt deserves it I think it will go to Donald as most would think its tougher getting sacks and pressure from the interior.

Maybe the Steelers history lately will work against Watt as if being an OLB for the Steelers some how the system creates 10+ sacks a year.

I use that expression so often my family swears they're etching it on my gravestone... since it'll probably be my last words.

The loss of Bud could severely hurt his case to end strong enough for DPOY. Have to think he will regularly be doubled and maybe even sometimes a chip with a double!

The last DPOY to win the award had won that award in two months the same; Aaron Donald. He was the last Defensive Player to earn DPOY while receiving the DPOM Award twice in the same season. I imagine with a "December to Remember", T.J. will have this award wrapped up. He needs to continue the pace though. Myles Garrett is RED HOT and right behind him.

Should T.J. obtain a Defensive Touchdown by that point, I believe he locks up the award.

Its going to be close Heinz for sure but Donald (who is a freak) has won this thing twice already and maybe a pendulum swing is in the cards. Watt needs to keep up the domination all through fighting double teams, being mauled and held repeatedly and STILL crushes it.

I wish Donald played on Steelers D line. Could you imagine Watt and Donald on the same front 7? It wouldn't be fair.
