    I mean...

    The intensity of the rivalry is not as fierce as it used to be due to the rile changes and the meteoric rise of Fantasy Football. The league wants High Octane Scoring to satisfy the mass populus. This would be a great concept.... if the NFL was ever intended to be set up that way.

    The NFL was always meant to be a game of imposing ones will against another. Survival of the fittest and may the best win. Winners take all and lovers drop out. That level of warrior mentality is sadly no more. Heck, even the immense animosity that the players once had for each other can be summed up in one tweet;

    Granted, I personally do not care about tweets like these between rivals or otherwise. However, just because I care does not dissipate the lack of animosity that there once was. Examples one might say?!

    Does anybody think on this board that Troy Polamalu and Ed Reed, during the apex of their careers, were ever "buddy buddy" off the field?!

    This.

    Way too respect within the rivalry. If this was the likes of the Burfict level animosity that many of us saw back during 2015, that would be a different set of circumstances.

    The Steelers need to just head to the locker room after the game, no need to be friendly with the ratbirds when it's over, we don't know how many of their players are infected with the virus :puking2:

    I don’t really mind, I don’t need the two teams to hate each other to enjoy it just the same. In fact, it makes it a little less anxious for me because I’m not worried about a Burfict or Suggs gunning to hurt one of our guys. I don’t have the same animosity for the Bengals and Ravens as I used to but I still enjoy beating them just as much.

    Now their fans, that’s a different story :lolol:

    Animosity is overrated when it comes to athletic rivalries. Some of the most intense on field or on court rivalries I’ve ever seen in person have been between brothers or close friends.

    Yeah, that could never happen at any level of competition. Sports, business, otherwise....

    Titans stomped on their logo. Harbaugh went up to them and Butler was in his face with no respect for the whiny loser.

    F@#k Harbaugh. I wouldn't piss on his gums if his teeth were on fire.
