I was listening to afternoon delight with Wes Uhler at the start of last week and he had this reoccurring theme of how Thursday night football had become the new Monday night football at least for him. Saturdays he is concerned about West Virginia football, Sundays all things Steelers and prepping for Mondays show so that by Monday night he and the wife need to unplug from football and watch a movie or something. He thought it was this way for a lot of people, MNF was just not the marquee night it used to be.

I think he makes at least half a point. Since ABC moved the game from the flagship station to cable's ESPN there has been a huge decline. CBS and NBC used to routinely just concede the night to ABC as MNF just destroyed the ratings. They would relegate shows that were on the decline to head to head matches with MNF figuring it would kill them quickly. ESPN has been searching for that mix to get the numbers back but lacks that Hank Jr. Splash that it used to have.

Which brings us to our current Covid-19 situation. Anyone who has been a board member here for at least the last 4 years probably knows about my Monday Magic threads. Steelers just don't lose on MNF. SNF is getting there, Thursday is a mixed bag. So I find myself in the curious position of its a Thursday game played on Tuesday night after MNF . The uncertainty is throwing the world off kilter, who knows what will happen. Taco Tuesday who ride?

More 2020 mindf@ck. I watched the very first MNF game, hell my mom bought my the first 'computer' football game...remember "Howard Cosell's MNF Game! MFN was a wonderful extension of the weekend, it made going back to work more fun (despite the Tuesday morning drag). As I got older it was not always must see TV, but still a very fun night with the kids, my 2 oldest (girls) actually became great football fans and it was a great bonding time between dad and daughters. When they moved the prime time to Sunday and Thursday it just became meh to me. I can honestly say the only time I watch MNF is when the Steelers play, or perhaps an exceptional match up..even with that hard to listen to the crappy announcers, ESPN sucks.

I hope there will be a game on Tuesday. Steelers are getting screwed over big time. Imagine if this was Patriots, Bucs or Cowboys getting shafted. There would be rioting on the streets.

I've noticed Patriot fans are going quietly into the night. I have some in my area and when they see me in Steeler gear they like to tell me New England is no longer a threat.

Their fans wouldn't stand for it. Ours do. Glenn is a perfect example. Steelers always getting screwed and he comes up with every excuse under the sun to justify it. We aren't Tomlin or AR2 we can make a scene in public.

Now all we need is the Wednesday game to be new Monday game unless it's moved to Saturday which will make it the new Friday game which.................. NFL may need that old Beatles song, eight days a week.

How do you boycott and make a scene in public at the same time? Are you from Portland?

This whole thing sounds like that scene from Godfather when Michael's Sicilian wife is naming off the days of the week in English!

Now they can go back to their original teams that they cheered for when the Pats were a non factor.

What would their fans do to show they weren't standing for it?

Not to derail my own thread but with Patricia firing has anyone from Bilicheck's coaching tree made it longer than 4 years and been successful? I know we all like to give the dark one some sort of mystical powers but honestly no of his former assistants/coordinators has lasted, at all.

That’s a low bar for this year. Heck, if there’s not a game on Tuesday, I’ll be looting on Wednesday. Just have to decide if it’ll be at Cabelas or Bass Pro.

Apparently you didn't read the "Looting for Dummies" book. 1st stop Liquor store. Next stop Walmart for the TV. Not sure if Bass Pro still carries arms and ammo but I know Cabelas would be very low on the list. They just might shoot back.
