If you are talking about opening qtr 3. I would assume folks were still in the head and or snack bars. Can they smoke in designated areas of the stadium or can they stay in their seat and smoke?

Its always a sell out. Doesn't mean that they get a good turn out though. But today I think it was the cold rain and people just stayed inside the concourse after half time. Early on it was full.

They're usually in the concourse or along the ramp at the open end of the stadium.

Steelers fans are notorious for missing the first few minutes of the third quarter.

Long beer and even longer restroom lines.

I know I've gone out at the half, immediately pee'd, then immediately got in line for beer and food and couldn't make it back in time. I wonder what I could have done quicker to get back in my seat, but there really is nothing short of pee'ing in my pants or in some lonely corner...or skipping my beer.

Absolutely. Every time I see a game on TV the stands look empty at the start of the 3rd. It has always been this way. I like to think everyone is so into the game that they don't get up until halftime. They've been holding it and are hungry :roflmao:

Coaches defer when they win the coin toss at a home game because they know the stands will be 1/2 empty just after halftime thus negating the home field crowd noise advantage.

I was at the game. So many "steeler" fans were leaving at the beginning of the fourth quarter....embarrassing!

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the fans in the stands has nothing to do with the coach chooses to defer... they do that so that the D gets onthe field first and if they stop them its an emotional lift for the O and for the fans... also .. the thinking is . if we are trailing at the half at least we get the ball to start the second half.. it has absolutely nothign ot do with the fans in a beer line instead of their seats... but that was funny

    Yes.
If you check attendence as a % of capacity you'll see that the Steelers fans are very average when it comes to actually going to the games.

Except away games...got to look at away game stats. The Redskins game a few years ago was awesome!

I have heard that claim over the years so I didn't just make it up. In fact it was said during a college game yesterday which is what brought it to mind. I'm glad you got amused nonetheless.

Corporate /Yuppie types aren't going to sit in the rain. Wait till the weather turns cold
watch how fast tickets become available, I have bought tickets from scalpers for years
this way, you may have to wait until game starts, but the price will come down and you
will be watching the greatest team on the planet face value plus gratuity.

I flew in from Kansas city. It wasn't that cold and it was a mist more than a rain! I was just seeing people leaving the stadium at the beginning of the fourth that I thought it was embarrassing. It wasn't like they were playing the browns or that it was a blowout! It was a close game versus the eagles! It was my first game ever at Heinz and I was disappointed. But that is just me. I was just fine in the elements!

By the way, I live in KC and even though the chiefs suck, the fans are in the stadium...all 70k of them!
