Hines should have been a first ballot HOFer. To keep him out this long is a travesty. Alan should get in there eventually as well.

Don't forget, Cowher only gained success because of Noll's players. ;)

Alan has ben a victim of too many good players all retiring around the sametime and the HOF stubbornly sticking x amount of players being selected each year.

Hines Ward should get in but I fear the number worshiping voters will keep him out a while they select guys who they feel put better numbers. Nevermind that he was a 2x SB champ, SB MVP, the man changed the way the game was played and that should say more than I was the fastest guy out there who ran downfield and caught 40 yard plus TD bombs. Sadly it won't.

Very deserving if both would get in. Plus, I'd forgotten that Donnie Shell FINALLY got in.

Alan was one of the best ever. He belongs in.
Hines was a guy who I’m glad we had. But 4 pro bowls doesn’t make you a HOF player. He can buy a ticket.

The Steelers will continue to have a backlog of HoFers. You have Ward and Faneca waiting. L.C. Greenwood will get in on the veteran's committee eventually. Roethlisberger will get in. Pouncey and DeCastro are possible if they make a few more pro bowls. Heyward, TJ Watt, and Fitzpatrick are currently some of the best players in the NFL on the defensive side of the ball. We are blessed as fans. Tomlin, too, if he gets a 2nd SB win.

Was Alan faneca really that good? I mean, can any of our lineman compare? How would he fare compared to others in the NFL today?

Yes, he was that good. And it doesn't matter how he would fare today, for his time, he was dominant.

And I love Hines, and hope someday he makes it, but they're going to take one, at most two, wr's in a five person class, and how do you compare him to Calvin Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Tory Holt? Calvin and Reggie have to go in first.

9 pro-bowls, 6 All-pro 1st team and 2 All-pro second team. Dude switched from guard to tackle for a season and still made second team all-pro!

9 pro bowls says he was one of the best:

During the days leading up to the 1998 NFL Draft, Jimmy Johnson was surveying the pool of talent. Then the Dolphins coach, Johnson had much draft-day success when he built the Cowboys championship teams of the early 1990s. "The guy most ready to play in the NFL," Johnson told a reporter, "is that kid Faneca from LSU." The Steelers picked Alan Faneca in the first round of the 1998 draft, and he deserves to be recognized as one of the best offensive linemen in franchise history. Faneca was a six-time first-team All-Pro during his years with the Steelers, and he was voted to nine Pro Bowls overall. In 2003, Faneca exhibited uncommon versatility by playing nine games at left tackle when injuries ravaged the line. He was named a member of the Steelers All-Time Team, and a member of the NFL Team of the Decade (2000s).

I thought he was such an effective mauler going back to the Nebraska days. FWPs hole was huge in the SB. One thing that blew my mind was how he looked after football. He looked half the size.

This x1000. Unfortunately. Hines Ward will have to sit and wait. He belongs in as far as i'm concerned.

Alan Faneca should get in this year. Resume is gigantic.
